5 out of 5 eggsPretty lights

Pros: Works as good as any other 1600mhz memory out there. Worked right out of the box without any issues

Love the lights on these things.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Again, love the lights. I would have prefered a random pattern like the DDR2 but it is still good

5 out of 5 eggsQuality Build

Pros: Cool LED lights top and bottom of sticks!
Crucial Quality
Very inexpensive

Cons: Can't reach 1800mhz overclock with these sticks

Other Thoughts: Really good looking memory and price. Very good quality memory. The problem that I have with these sticks is that they can't overclock to 1800mhz. Many review website are hitting that with no problems. I loose up the timing and still no luck. But let's face it, I bought a 1600mhz kit and at that a very good and cool one.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat ram

Pros: Lights flashing are kind of an indicator of whether or not it's working, kind of cool for troubleshooting.
Bought this and another 2g for a total of 8 and had absolutely no problems with any of it, that's what I like!

Cons: price? dunno, you get what you pay for and these are great

Other Thoughts: Didn't know these actually lit up, lol, but it's kind of mesmerizing watch it...

5 out of 5 eggsThis RAM works GREAT!!!

Pros: Not too long ago I posted that my ASUS P6X58D Premium mobo was only picking up 4GB/6GB of DDR3 RAM, and wondering if this RAM was compatible with this board as the crucial website stated. Anyhow, after some trouble shooting I determined that the RAM slot A1 was dead on my board (testing individual 2GB RAM modules in A1 and system would not boot; then testing A1 and B1 together only windows read 2 GB, and testing B1 and C1 together and windows read 4GB - logically to me this meant that A1 was dead... (not to mention that the LEDs on the 2GB RAM module in A1 would always be lame/stagnet/non-moving, while the 2GB RAM modules in B1 and C1 would blink in sequence).

RMAed the board (I got it from ZZF.com; probably the last time I do that; newegg all the way from now on) on Monday May 10, 2010, and received a new one Wednesday May 13, 2010. Slapped everything together and windows now reading 6GB (in BIOs set to "XMP" profile and then set RAM voltage from AUTO to "1.64"); flawless.

Cons: If your sensitive to fast, blinking lights or if you are suceptable to epilepcy do not get this RAM!!

Other Thoughts: This RAM seriously looks like it was taken from a PC component from the Starship Enterprise ("Space, the final frontier...")

2 out of 5 eggsWindows 7 64 only recognizes 4GB/6GB?

Pros: I think the RAM works?

Cons: Only reading 4GB of 6GB DDR3 1600.

Other Thoughts: I purchased this RAM to complement my Asus P6X58D premium mobo (crucial listed this RAM compatible for this board), Intel i7 930, Sapphire RadeonHD 5850 Toxic 1GB DDR5, WD Caviar Black 640GB, Windows 7 Pro 64-bit. I know that Asus doesn't list this RAM as compatible in thier manual or on their updated list on their website, but some of you with this same board have stated everything is okay; do you have any problems reading 6GB of RAM or do you only 4GB? I will try and test each stick of RAM individually...

Manufacturer Response:

Thank you for your comments. The memory should work fine in that board, we have seen where a bent pin in the CPU socket actual will cause this. Please do a search and you will see reports of this. If this isn't the case or you don't feel comfortable checking this, please feel free to contact support at 1-800-336-8896 and we will help you out as best as we can.

5 out of 5 eggsFast performance and ... blinky lights! COOL!

Pros: I was browsing around as I really wanted to make sure I had high speed memory to go with the high speed Core i7 processor that I got. I searched the Newegg reviews before finally settling on this one (over the OCZ). The reason? The BLUE LED!! They are so cool.

After installing the memory and the rest of the components onto the board, I held my breath and turned it on for the first time. The blinky lights actually confirmed for me that everything was working exactly as it should.

Also, it does work as advertised. I have an Asus P6X58D motherboard and I was able to overclock the board to have the memory run at the full DDR3 1600 speed. On the Experience index, the processor I got is 7.4 but the memory runs at 7.8!

Cons: I can't think of one.

5 out of 5 eggsPerfect

Pros: Got a 7.8 in Windows7 64 bit performance. No window in my SilverStone case so no epileptic fits. I did stare at the lights for a long while as i did my new build and had 1970's flashbacks :) Its great memory as only Crucial can build.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat RAM

Pros: Great RAM -- good performance, stays cool, low-profile very slick looking heat spreaders, and the ever-popular blue blinky lights. Installed in newly build i7 system w/o any observable performance issues with BF:BC2 gameplay or video editing -- 6Gb appears plenty headroom for starter-to-medium i7 system. Easy configured in BIOS of ASUS P6X58D with XMP default profile @ 1600MHz -- had to tweak voltage down to 1.64V as XMP for this MB defaults to 1.66V (just above Intel 1.65V spec). Would highly recommend to others.

Cons: None so far -- only issue to be aware of with Asus P6X58D is that max 6Gb of XMP 1600Mhz RAM. Assume if run (any RAM) at lower speed can upgrade to 12Gb.

4 out of 5 eggsflashy flash flash

Pros: Out of the box performance is excellent. Pop them in and that's that. Blinky light are loved by everyone... but me.

Cons: Not making a version of these without LED's. Not everyone likes the bling. What if I was epileptic?
