5 out of 5 eggsReliable

Pros: The OS boots up relatively fast when I need it to. And my PC is always on so anyway so it was not a factor in the purchase. I'm only using it to run the OS and a few software when needed. So the write speed wasn't really a factor in my purchase.

Cons: Wished it was cheaper.

Other Thoughts: Not 1 problem with it since purchase.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat SSD

Pros: This is a great drive, system boots up in less than 20 seconds. I would recommend this drive to those who ONLY will use this drive as a boot drive.

Cons: The price was and still is high for the amount of Gigs it has. Remember, all drives have a specific amount of GB's but in actuality pocesses less. So for a 64GB SSD your really only getting about 59GB maybe less.

Other Thoughts: Before anyone post any bad reviews about this SSD, please remember the amount of space on the drive. If you expect a fast drive then don't make that drive a boot drive and storage. 64GB is not a whole lot to work with so this drive, unless in RAID 0 with another identical drive i.e. same brand and model/capacity, this drive should serve best as a boot drive. Throw all your music, pics, and anything else on a seperate drive. REMEMBER, your drive has to index files and searches through them so the more stuff you have on that drive the longer it takes to get where it needs to be this also includes your boot up.

5 out of 5 eggsSatisfied

Pros: Easy installation. I can say now that life is too short not to have your bootable volume on a SSD. Some of my friends speak of getting a couple of these things on a RAID array for extra performance, but this thing kicks my last rig out of the water and it had two WD Raptors in RAID 0, so for the vast majority I'd think RAIDing these wouldn't be necessary.

Cons: I'd thought that 64GB would be enough for Windows and my program files (with my media on a larger mechanical drive). Win7 Ultimate took a bit over 25GB. If you intend to load up alot of programs, get a larger SSD. I ended up just adding another 128GB drive for Programs and such but I might have been ok with just a 128GB SSD & a large mechanical drive.

5 out of 5 eggsMy first SSD

Pros: Very fast. Windows will boot in seconds, and installed applications or games load ridiculously fast.

Cons: I bought this on sale for $90, and that was still a bit steep for 64GB.

Other Thoughts: When SSDs become cheaper there's going to be a huge improvement in standard PCs.

5 out of 5 eggsGood SSD

Pros: I've used this as my primary drive for about 10 months now. I have Windows and most commonly used programs on it, but all of my games, music and pictures are on a WD Caviar Black. Boot time hasn't changed (~30 seconds) and fragmentation is <10%. I've been told by a friend who works for Seagate not to defrag SSDs so I haven't, although my system doesn't seem to identify it as a defragmentable volume so I don't think I could if I wanted to.

Cons: I have a creeping feeling that this bad boy will give out some day.. but I can't dock an egg for that! No substantial cons.

5 out of 5 eggsReally good SSD

Pros: Really good read speed, which equals great boot up time. Very stable.

Cons: Write speed slow, which equals slower shut down time.

Other Thoughts: I've owned this drive for over a year, using it as my boot drive. I've had no problems with this drive. It boots fast (under 50 seconds), even though I have quite a few start up processes running that would seriously slow down a traditional drive.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat (if you know what you're doing)

Pros: Relatively cheap (as far as SSDs go nowadays)
Fast (will beat 15K drives in RAID 0 for read times)

Cons: Often a pain to set up properly
Small

Other Thoughts: At the time of writing this SSDs are expensive, and its hard to feel the cost is justified when you buy one and plug it in.

There are many steps needed to ensure you SSD functions in the way you intend for what you need it for.

Things like moving the USERS directory over, along with all unessential programs. There are few programs that truly take full advantage of the SSD. Moving/deleting/capping your pagefile. Getting rid of hibernation...

It seems people with SSDs seem to complain about not seeing a large enough speed improvement. Partition your drive and use it as cache for Intel SmartResponse if you have a Z68 board.

5 out of 5 eggsgood product

Pros: Bought one of these a year or so ago. This one is combined with the old one in a Raid 0 configuration and things are running smooth and quick.

Cons: For what I do 64 gb is too small - I had to do a split on windows 7 to make it work. The first time I found how to move USERS to another drive (windows by default want's to dump nearly ever file you create in that directory) If you have a lot of software and documents you will run out of room fast. The split system with USERS directory on a different drive didn't work well for me.

I finally dumped where the libraries are pointing by default and pointed them to directories on a different drive to get around this.

I also had to reassign some of the path's to those directories so that when the various software packages tried to store documents in the default locations they were rerouted to my locations.

Other Thoughts: If you have a heavy duty software machine these small drives are a pain but MAN they are quick in relation to regular disk drives.

A year's experience battling that 60 GB limit taught me what I needed to know so when I did the Raid 0 setup things are running smooth with a bit of extra space now.

Love it. Primary hard disk in Windows 7 experience is 7.9 and it scares people at how fast it loads things now on a Intel I7 2600.
