5 out of 5 eggsVery nice

Pros: I have 2 of these in a RAID 0 array as my boot/system drive, and they are lightning fast. I keep all critical data on other drives as RAID 0 by definition doubles your chances of drive failure. Knock wood, I've been running them for a year without issue.

Cons: work so well, they are boring...

1 out of 5 eggsGreat while it lasted, disappointed :(

Pros: The drive is fast as hell. Windows would load in a matter of seconds

Cons: The drive is now failing. Event log is littered with NTFS corruption and I am getting many many random blue screens in Win 7 64bit. After POST upon powering on PC, the drive doesn't load sometimes or there appears to be a constant read/write on the IO (Indicated by the Drive activity light) which is very unusual. The drive only lasted about 1 year and 6 months and now will need to be replaced. I'd give it zero eggs if I could, Thankfully I have another (mechanical) drive that has linux installed so I'm not totally out of a working PC.

Other Thoughts: Stay away from this particular drive if you want something that lasts... Hopefully I can RMA. There is no support on the weekends so we will see.

1 out of 5 eggsHorrible product

Pros: None

Cons: Bios does not recognize. Crashes all the time. updated firmware comes out and that doesn't solve a thing. Do not purchase this product huge waste of money.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat SSD

Pros: I remember reading lots of reviews that said their drive had died within a few months. I've been using this drive for a year and a half and I've still not had any problems with it. It's fast and reliable.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I did have to update the firmware, which was easy as running a program that is downloaded from Crucial's website. Also, ensure that when you use an SSD, that you do a fresh install of whatever operating system you're using and that you disable the automatic defrag if it has that feature and your drive will last you a long time.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Inexpensive
Low power draw
0dB
Well supported by Crucial
More than 10x faster than an HDD
Still going strong after more than a year after applying the firmware updates.

Cons: Could be more inexpensive.

Other Thoughts: It appears that many ignorant customers are giving this fine product 1 star because they do not realize that they must regularly check for and update the drive's firmware. Guys, UPDATE YOUR DEVICE'S FIRMWARE!

4 out of 5 eggsUpdate your firmware

Pros: Fairly good write speeds, fast read speeds. Good for an OS drive.

Cons: Has a bug in earlier versions of the firmware that causes BSODs every hour after you hit 5184 hours with it powered on.

Other Thoughts: For everyone having crash issues with this, update your drive's firmware from Crucial's site. It seems the old firmware versions write the powered-on hours to a single cell or something so when it hits 5184 hours and tries to update it again (once an hour) it fails and you get a BSOD if it is your OS drive, or you drop the drive if it isn't. After this update you'll be fine.

2 out of 5 eggsIt started limping after a year and 5 months

Pros: Good while it lasted, I guess.

Cons: I'm very easy on my tech. I baby my computer. I never OC, and I've careful to keep my baby nice and cool. No reason in the World for this SSD to only last a year and 5 months.

Other Thoughts: critical system files that windows needed to keep the UI running started crashing, and my computer would through up an error of the process that would crash, and a Hex address in memory. Well I've been doing this a long time so I started checking my RAM. Newp, it was the SSD.

1 out of 5 eggsdo not buy

Pros: fast, while it worked...

Cons: as several others have posted, drive died after 1 year, random BSODs, not recognized in bios. Crucial came up with every excuse not to RMA, finally just gave up and purchased the g.skill phoenix (which im quite happy with). This will be the last crucial product I ever buy and will make sure none of my friends ever purchase something of such low quality. Even tried the firmware update in hopes of being able to use it again, but no luck.
