The Crucial m4 SSD reaches read speeds of up to 415 MB/s, a 17% increase over its predecessor. Ideal for client computing, Crucial m4 SSD provides benefits for notebooks, desktops, workstations, and industrial applications, including low power consumption, lightweight construction, and resistance to shock and vibration.

5 out of 5 eggsFast and reliable

Pros: Very fast -- blinding on random access and will almost saturate SATA3 on sequential reads/writes. Has been dead reliable thus far.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: Does what it says on the tin.

5 out of 5 eggs2yrs old and still going strong!

Pros: It's SSD, so yeah, it's fast. Very fast. And after 2 years of every day, 8+ hrs a day use (OS, a few utilities and several games) it's still going strong! Crystal Disk Info shows the drive as running at 100% health... after 2 yrs!

Cons: None that I can think of.

Other Thoughts: I bought this in June of 2011 and the price was $219.99. Now it goes for $129.99!
One note: There are other Crucial M4 models (CT128M4SSD2BAA) out now that have the exact same specs, but also come with a mounting bracket and sata cable for just 5 dollars more. Lastly, I suggest using a program like Crystal Disk Info to check on the health/status of your SSD, and also google SSD drive tweaks for the OS you use and see which OS settings you should be enabling/disabling in regards to your SSD. This can have a big impact in your drive's longevity! (In my case, Win7 detected and set all the correct settings like TRIM, etc... so it was a breeze for me)

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Drive

Pros: Speed, Speed, and more Speed

Cons: Dead after one year. Replaced with a new one

Other Thoughts: Will buy again. I'm sure it died do to multiple power outages within a months time and I don't have battery backup. So, Don't let this influence a purchase. Crucial is top notch when it comes to Memory and SSD's.

1 out of 5 eggsDEAD ONE YEAR LATER

Pros: Fast and relatively cheap

Cons: Died in about a year...took me a while to figure out too, as the failure was not graceful but intermittent and these are hard to test

Other Thoughts: wont buy that brand again

5 out of 5 eggsGreat SSD

Pros: fast
easy to install
Mine came with data transfer kit nice extra didn't use though.

Cons: Maybe could have added an sata cable in the package.

Other Thoughts: I am not new to SSDs i have many in my home.I bought this drive on a whim locally to try and resurrect an old core 2 duo e6600 machine it was previously ata 133 and was terribly slow. This drive even on the old sata II ports is performing awesome and brought new life to an old machine. Coming from that ancient drive to an sdd the no noise factor is amazing also.

4 out of 5 eggsAdendum on my last review

Pros: I contacted Crucial about this problem, and they were really helpfull. They provided me with a reviving procedure (turn on the PC for 20 minutes, then turn it off and turn it back on) and it worked. The drive is back, as nothing happened.
I'm must say i'm surprised, and i wasn't prepared for such a good service.
Thanks Crucial!

Cons: can cause sweating for thinking the computer is dead.
