Crucial 240-pin DIMMs are used in DDR3 memory for desktop computers. DDR3 is the latest generation of memory with an improved architecture that allows it to transmit data more quickly.

A dual inline memory module (DIMM) consists of a number of memory components (usually black) that are attached to a printed circuit board (usually green). The gold pins on the bottom of the DIMM provide a connection between the module and a socket on a larger printed circuit board. The pins on the front and back of a DIMM are not connected to each other.

5 out of 5 eggsCrucial Is Awesome

Pros: I've had good luck with Crucial RAM before, and this time has been no different! PC3 10600 is the fastest my board can handle and ECC is server-class tech. Oh yeah, did I mention Crucial is manufactured by an American company? Even better.

Cons: At almost $10 per GB, it was a bit expensive, but server-class tech is never cheap...

Other Thoughts: I'm using it on my server to run VMs.

5 out of 5 eggsI own a few

Pros: I bought 3 packs of these for a total of 96GB of ram on an EVGA SR2 motherboard. I hear they overclock but I have not tried

Cons: not 1600 mhz?

Other Thoughts: These are quality DIMMs and I can recommend them highly if you dont need ram faster than 1333 mhz

5 out of 5 eggsWorks on Dell R710

Pros: This RAM works great in a Dell R710.

Cons: Depending on your configuration you may need to run it in Optomized mode. Not the fault of the RAM.

Other Thoughts: The only problem is that with this configuration and a single CPU, you have to switch/tell the BIOS to use Optimized mode.

Pros: Same as what's sold on Crucial's site at a lower price. All dimms worked out of the box, no problems so far.

Cons: none

5 out of 5 eggsWorks fine in a Dell Precision Workstation T7500

Pros: $260 for 24GB Registered ECC memory is a good price and allows for some decent virtualization.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: This specific kit wasn't one that came up on Crucial's site for being compatible with my Precision T7500, but it was listed as being compatible with several Xeon based servers, so I figured it should work fine, which it does.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat price

Pros: A lot of memory. Also, the price is almost half of what Crucial lists on their site. I bought 2 packages (48GB in total) and have not had any problems so far.

Cons: None so far.

Other Thoughts: This is a lot of memory, its up to you as to whether your setup needs this much. Also, make sure your board will support it.
