Pros: Very fast when it works

Cons: Stopped working in 7 months. Computer shuts down without any warning. Let's see how strong the warranty is and if Crucial will honor it.

5 out of 5 eggsSolid

Pros: Fast and reliable

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: I have had this SSD a little over a year and a half now with NO issues whatsoever. As of yesterday, it is still registering the highest rating in the Windows Rating Index. My computer starts up quickly and quietly.

5 out of 5 eggsRMA process simple

Pros: This was my first SSD purchase back in Sept 2011. Went out 11 months, BSOD. The first series of these had issue's after they logged so many hours on so I did a firmware update to fix that and it still BSOD. Worked with their tech support and they had no problems RMA'ing this at all.
In between I used a OCZ Vertex III and it is quick but not at all like this M4. I have also used AData on a cheaper build, which is also not in the same league as this M4. All of course fast than any disk drive could be.

Cons: It broke but at the time of purchase SSD's were brand new to the market so I figured something would happen.

Other Thoughts: Crucial has fantastic tech support and RMA process was painless. I would strongly encourage using them for anyone.

5 out of 5 eggsNo Problems after over 8 months

Pros: I have had this SSD since Oct 2012 and it is still going strong. Not a single hiccup. I use it primarily as a boot drive for Windows 7. My PC restarts in about 30 sec. even after 8 months of use.

Cons: Just wish I could afford a couple more for games!

Other Thoughts: A lot of people have had problems with the drive failing. I installed the updated firmware for this drive as soon as I got it. I think this is the most important thing to keep the drive from "failing."

2 out of 5 eggsAmazing, till it died.

Pros: Over the last 2 years I have purchased 4 SSD drives. This was my first, yet fastest. I didn't run alot of speed tests or benchmarks, but running windows 7 this drive booted in what seemed like real time. I have a few other of the Sata III 6gb/s SSD's and this one booted windows the fastest. Low heat, was a workforce.

Cons: Died! Like most solid state memory, it just dies, you have zero warning. Its been 1 year 10 months and its dead. Was my OS drive, so didn't loose much data, but just the annoyance of recreating windows and installed programs and such. Running drive diagnostics, shows a chip and/or sector as bad. My guess is one of the chips gave out.

Other Thoughts: Windows started crashing, would be slow to install programs, kept getting blue screens after 20 or so minutes. Figured I had installed something that wasn't agreeing with windows, however, turns out the drive had gone south.

Crucial is good and I'm sure it will be fairly painless to RMA it, even after a few years (too bad I can't just do it through Newegg).

Don't let this deter you though, this drive was amazing.

1 out of 5 eggs

Pros: It was good for 34 days. It is warranted for 30 days. I should have gotten the extended warrantee for $15.

Cons: It failed after 34 days, probably due to an element failure in the SATA interface because it made the other SATA devices in the system unreliable.

Other Thoughts: I suspected a virus at first and destroyed much of the information in my system trying to reload the operating system. Finally I removed the SSD, and everything started to work again except my good data was gone.

5 out of 5 eggsAwsome Speed for the Price

Pros: Fast, made my own Fusion Drive on my iMAC 2009. It was installed in a Windows 7 machine until the user had trouble with the drive and decided to go with a 1TB platter drive. All it was that it needed was a firmware update. I have the fusion drive running for about 2 months now with no problems. I have it linked up to a 1TB with about 300GB of data on the total disk.

Cons: SSD needed a firmware update but that is to be expected with good quality manufactures.

Other Thoughts: Works great as a fusion drive in older iMAC 2009. Very fast and quick. had no problems with it since installing in a mac.

1 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Fast

Cons: Died within a week. Unfortunately during a vacation and lost some underwater photos.

Other Thoughts: Argghh. Put into an older labtop to speed it up and take on vacation. Died during vacation. It is now one week beyond the 30 days for auto RMA. Hope the manufacturer will stand by their work.
