5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Cool
It's memory?

Cons: When I initially plugged these in and booted up my system, these only ran at 1333, which is a very common complaint. I just simply had to change that in the bios to 1600 under 1.5v and they work fine now.
These run slightly warmer than my old ripjaws, which ran at an average of 50c and these run upwards in the mid 60s.
I didn't deduct any eggs simply because those cons aren't that big of a deal.

Other Thoughts: I've also heard these run 1333 until you download the drivers and Ballistix Utility, then it runs at 1600.

1 out of 5 eggs1333?

Pros: Pretty

Cons: Won't post in Asus sabretooth z87 or gigabyte g1 z87 sniper. Have it in a backup pc running at 1333 mhz. Manual timings/cas etc etc multiple motherboards cpu's psu's gpu's cases...won't run at stock. As posted will not even POST in the two listted boards even with Asus mem okay I can't reach bios. I bought 4 kits two rg and two bo. The BO are running fine the rg has given me nothing but grief..

Other Thoughts: I got these for the bling factor they are on the qvl for the sniper board and 1600 1.5v shouldn't be a problem for the Sabre. Having to use these on an M-Atx off brand board under rated timings was a horrid waste of both my time and my money

5 out of 5 eggsgood product, would buy again

Pros: havent had any problems with with the 4 sticks i have

like that you can switch between red and green (not just one color choice)

easy to use management app

like that its made by crucial

Cons: cant run one stick with both colors.

older ddr2 models had 4 or 5 colors per stick, seems like a step back

Other Thoughts: going strong for 2.5 years. 16gb on a asus 990fx

havent tried over clocking these and dont plan too.

ya ya ya, i know its rice but i dont care

1 out of 5 eggsDOA or grosslly incompatible?

Pros: They are Cas 8 and 1.5V.

Cons: Tried it in 2 different MoBos (ASUS and GIGABYTE), both refused to boot after their original DDR3 has been replaced with at least one of these sticks. I find it highly unlikely that both sticks in the kit I received were somehow defective, yet neither stick could be made to work. This is the first time in my 15 years building my own PCs when I have run into a problematic DDR kit. I will be ordering a different brand.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Ram

Pros: Easy install, fast, great looking led lights.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: I don't know why people are having an issue with the MOD utility. I have down loaded the software anad have zero issues. I have this memory on an Asus Sabertooth 990FX R2 Gen 3 board. The memory is currently running at 1880. No issues. I also have an AMD FX 9590 clocked at 5.017 out of the box. Idles at 34c. Great machine. Would recommend and would buy again.

1 out of 5 eggsLikes to crash my computer.

Pros: The RAM has a lows CL, and and at a reasonable voltage.

Different modes to run LEDs at.

Looks nice to some people.

Cons: doesn't work with x79 bases systems.

Blue screens me 1-2 times a day

software won't launch

cant do anything intensive, or play games for a long time without it crashing my computer

gives errors in memory test.

Other Thoughts: Should have gotten RAM that is known to work. Wouldn't recommend this because of compatibility issues, and headaches.

5 out of 5 eggsmemory

Pros: it is stable on a asus saber-tooth z87 board LGA 1150, the leds look good when turned down just a notch.
It is also prime95 stable overclocked ABOVE XMP 1600 specs. on the same board running a corsair ram cooler.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: for me i had to turn the leds down just a little bit using the mod utility, this is not really a con because they are adjustable with the utility that you can get from crucial's website for free

5 out of 5 eggsStill going strong a year later.

Pros: Red/Green LEDs are very cool. Stable and fast.

Cons: Price has gone up.

Other Thoughts: What can be said other than Crucial does it again with the Ballistix Tracer series. The RAM looks cool, has heatsinks, and uses red and green LEDs that are useful when used in conjunction with the M.O.D Utility.
The only con I can think of is price; it's doubled in the last year which makes buying two of these kits an expensive undertaking. Still, having 16GB of RAM cool RAM is worth it and I would recommend Crucial to anyone looking for stable memory for their ultimate build.

3 out of 5 eggsworked for a while

Pros: Looks great, the downloaded program allows some customization of the LED flash sequences, fast at first, recognized by ASUS motherboard, and an MSI board.

Cons: I purchased this for my husband's work computer in April 2012. Until about a month ago, it worked very well at 1600. The computer crashed after testing everything from mobo to video card to drives I was able to find only that the machine would run with the full 8 gigs of ram if it was set to 1333 MHz. I was able to narrow down which dimm was bad.

Other Thoughts: I helped a friend build a gaming computer using the the Blue/orange version. The memory worked well for about a month, then one dimm died. I have used crucial memory in many builds since 2002, and have never had any of their stuff fail before. This memory was never overclocked, so I would not expect a faiilure of this sort from crucial.
