1 out of 5 eggsOrdered 2, got 2 bad.

Pros: Cheap, good CAS Latency.

Cons: Ordered 2 sticks, finished building a Custom Rig. One stick caused all sorts of havoc with posting, not posting, working, not working, bootlooping. The 2nd stick booted, could install windows, games crashed with random errors, memtestx86 reports it, too, is bad.

I can expect a dead stick or two here or there, but for this kind of failure rate, I'm thinking either my luck is bad or I need to go with another brand.

Other Thoughts: I'm a sucker for PNY so I'm thinking of going with them.

If you find yourself in this situation, return to the retailer don't RMA. Most component manufacturers will send junk replacements to multiple people it's functional hoping they don't know better, that's my expectation here.

Patriot had similar issues and a bad reputation awhile ago for over-rating components that were too cheap and letting the market sort out the failure rate; they've since repaired their reputation. I hope Crucial isn't going that route, they have a good rep and it'd be a shame for them to lose it in as a competitive market as this.

3 out of 5 eggsDOA

Pros: Got a good deal at micro center, used for building a new computer.

Cons: One of the two ram sticks came DOA. Seemed to be shorting the motherboard, not allowing the system to even power up. The other ram stick worked fine and allowed the system to power up. Returned to MC, and thankfully both new ram sticks worked fine. Computer has been running great since.

1 out of 5 eggsDead

Pros: Worked fine for a while

Cons: Just up and died one day. PC won't boot until I replaced this memory

Other Thoughts: As a computer repair technician, I've found in every case where memory has caused problems with a PC, the system has defective Micron memory. I don't see any failures from any other brand, including Elpidia, Samsung, Corsair, or others. Micron and it's subsidiary, Crucial, just have poor quality and poor quality control.

5 out of 5 eggsgreat product

Pros: Great price, reliable, looks good

Cons: Can't think of any, because there aren't any!

Other Thoughts: I bought this because at the time, it was the best RAM for the price. I built my computer three months ago. And in that time, I've had problems with my processor, GPU, and hard drive. But never have I had a problem with my RAM. It's been running strong and consistent since the day i installed it. Great product and i recommend it highly. As soon as i get more money i'm going to by another stick.
