3 out of 5 eggsWhy

This review is from: Crucial Ballistix Tactical Tracer 4GB 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1866 (PC3 14900) Desktop Memory (with Red/Green Light) Model BLT4G3D1869DT2TXRG

Pros: Its RAM, and maybe on sale

Cons: LEDs are just stupid. Unless you want a rave or 4th of July going on inside your computer case, it is just nonsense. Its speed and frequency scores very low on Microsoft rating system and with the LEDs, it just uses more electricity for none of the extra power.

Other Thoughts: If its on sale and your looking for slightly faster RAM than normal, its not bad. If your looking for gaming RAM or concerned about voltage, look somewhere else.

This review is from: Crucial Ballistix Tactical Tracer 4GB 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1866 (PC3 14900) Desktop Memory (with Red/Green Light) Model BLT4G3D1869DT2TXRG

Pros: running 16 gb of these now, at 2200mhz. timings: 10-10-10-28, as with the guy a ways down the page.

running in my asus gryphon z87 board, not a single issue

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: highly recommended...when their in stock!

5 out of 5 eggsVERY nice

This review is from: Crucial Ballistix Tactical Tracer 4GB 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1866 (PC3 14900) Desktop Memory (with Red/Green Light) Model BLT4G3D1869DT2TXRG

Pros: very stable ram, running my sticks at 2000mhz on my asus gryphon mb, not a single hiccup.

thanks to Joshua361 for saying how far he could oc his ram, I'll probably try and bump them up to 2100 sooner or later once I grab another 8gb.

utility for temp monitoring and setting the lights up, patterns etc, pretty solid overall. no issues.

Cons: none, though its too bad newegg bumped the price up, lol.

Other Thoughts: I'm very impressed with this ram, I use to run ram by geil, their black dragon series ddr2 on my older intel board before it started going out, had very nice lighting setup on the ram. this is a good alternative now that I'm using the ddr3 standard. highly recommended

5 out of 5 eggsBest LED RAM I've owned

This review is from: Crucial Ballistix Tactical Tracer 4GB 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1866 (PC3 14900) Desktop Memory (with Red/Green Light) Model BLT4G3D1869DT2TXRG

Pros: - LEDs have green option (deciding factor for me) and Red
- Different modes of LEDs flashing
- Top LEDS as well as underglow lights (independent settings too!)
- FAST and RELIABLE
- Easy to install
- Solid design unlike some flimsy heat sinks I've seen on Corsair

Cons: That I didn't buy more!

Other Thoughts: I've had these now for over 6 months and I change the LED modes to show friends all the time. I'd say for what use one can give to RAM, I've given mine a lot. I am actually buying another set soon since I've gotten into gaming more.

5 out of 5 eggsCrucial is it!

This review is from: Crucial Ballistix Tactical Tracer 4GB 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1866 (PC3 14900) Desktop Memory (with Red/Green Light) Model BLT4G3D1869DT2TXRG

Pros: Price, performance, cool LED's.

Cons: As previously noted, LED sensitivity. Full bright, or too dim. Range of adjustment just isn't there.

Other Thoughts: Works great in my old Asus P6X58D. Bought four so when I move to the 2011 platform I'll be set.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Performance

This review is from: Crucial Ballistix Tactical Tracer 4GB 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1866 (PC3 14900) Desktop Memory (with Red/Green Light) Model BLT4G3D1869DT2TXRG

Pros: Works Perfect in my new Asrock z77 OC Formula. The amazing thing is this ram will run completely stable at 2200 MHz with timings of 10-10-10-28 at stock voltage. I could not be happier.

Cons: None at all.

Other Thoughts: At 2200 MHz the price performance ratio is off the freakin chart.

5 out of 5 eggsWhy buy any other ram

This review is from: Crucial Ballistix Tactical Tracer 4GB 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1866 (PC3 14900) Desktop Memory (with Red/Green Light) Model BLT4G3D1869DT2TXRG

Pros: Only bought 1 to try out light mod. Cant complain, it does look great when there is heavy activity. Not sure if I would want all 4 banks lit up however as it can get bright

Cons: Sensitivity of brightness is high. If you don't set it to the brightest setting, it doesn't look that great, but it is a little overpowering at the highest setting, so its a trade off

Other Thoughts: Running at 1680 since the rest of my ram is 1600, so I can't comment on the speed difference which is probably negligible between 1866 and 1600. That being said, for the 2-3 more in cost why not get the faster ram?
