5 out of 5 eggsStill going strong, no issues

Pros: Still working perfectly since the first month they came out. Leds are still going strong.
Works flawless in my Asrock z77oc formula and In my asrock z77extreme4.
I ran these at 2200 in my asrock ocformula with clocks of 10-10-10-28 and stock voltage for a long time without issue. Tested stable over and over.

Cons: Ballistix Mod Utility is a little buggy and they haven't added any additional light patterns since it came out.

Other Thoughts: I see quite a few negative reviews of this ram. I guess there are some faulty kits floating around out there or something, which is strange for crucial, but mine have performed perfect from day 1.

4 out of 5 eggsHow to work the LED's

Pros: I saw a review from Jonathon C. where he could not adjust the LED colors. You have to download the Ballistix MOD Utility to makes changes to color and LED patterns.

Cons: None

4 out of 5 eggsGreat RAM, Great Customer Service

Pros: Works great, looks great, customizable LED's, limited lifetime warranty

Cons: Started going out after 9 months of use

Other Thoughts: Had to go into the BIOSon my Sabertooth 990FX board to set them to full speed. Worked great for the first 9 months. Started having program crashes and BSOD's. Called Crucial, they had great customer service, and promptly initiated an RMA. The have 2 options: wait to receive and advanced delivery, both with 3 day UPS ground.

5 out of 5 eggsAll Green!

Pros: Package said the LEDs were Red and Green. Mine (4 sticks) came set to all green LEDs. Which was perfect for me. Is it switchable? Or are my Red LEDs just not working? I don't know. See cons...

Cons: Not documentation came with these RAM sticks. I have no idea if there's a switch on them to change the color from Green to Red. I didn't see one. But Green is what I wanted so I didn't look any further when they all lit up green on power up.

Other Thoughts: These are the most awesome looking Memory sticks ever! They flash a pattern as the computer reads and writes to the RAM. And when you have four of them, the effect is just awesome!

Also, going one 2 months now and no problems at all, says Memtest86.

5 out of 5 eggsupdated review

Pros: update to my previous review, after resetting my BIOS both DIMMs are now lighting up

Cons: still the cost difference issue compared to the the 1866Mhz Orange/Blue($89.99) these are $10 more

4 out of 5 eggsOnly 1 lights up

Pros: per my OC'd CPU, these immediately booted @2000Mhz(9-9-9-24, 1.55v), may not need the extra .05v, but Ive yet to benchmark/check stability.

Cons: Only one of the DIMMs is lighting up, have the software for them, but can only get one to light up

Other Thoughts: These cost more than the same exact 1866Mhz set that come in Orange/Blue, which makes no sense, the Reg/Green, Orange/Blue in 1666Mhz are same price, these should be as well

1 out of 5 eggsWorst mem ever from crucial

Pros: Works fine with the sticks that work. Running 2011 socket and got all 8 sticks installed. Of course not without slicing my finger on the the sharp edges of the spreaders. ! Stick would not power on.

Cons: The edges of the spreaders are SHARP! I will be reporting this to the CPSC as it seems other have sliced their fingers as well. Oh did I mention 1 stick was DOA?

Manufacturer Response:

Hello,

Please contact us directly, these modules should have a smooth edge along the top that would not be sharp, customer safety is a high priority. We would like to see these specific modules, please call 1-800-336-8896 so we can work with you directly on this issue. We are sorry that these have caused you any issues and would like to address your concerns.

Regards,
Crucial
