5 out of 5 eggsSuper amazing memory

This review is from: Crucial Ballistix Tactical 8GB 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model BLT8G3D1608DT1TX0

Pros: Works good stock XMP - Overclocked very good (results WILL vary).

Cons: no cons

Other Thoughts: I got this memory to 2000Mhz 1.45V 9-9-9-27-2T. (it fails at 2133 1.5v 11-37)

5 out of 5 eggs16 Gb of this stuff is the RAM of my dreams

This review is from: Crucial Ballistix Tactical 8GB 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model BLT8G3D1608DT1TX0

Pros: I bought two stick of this for a luxurious 16 GB of dual-channel RAM for my Windows 7 build; now Windows 10. This stuff is epic and is the last place I worry about system bottle necks

Cons: Latency is not as aggressive as RAMs I've used past, but with these sticks, an 8-Core AMD FX processor and a Samsung 850 SSD, I'm not really thinking about all of that these days.

Other Thoughts: Crucial is my go-to company for RAM and these ballistic modules have not disappointed. These days, I do not do much bench marking as my primary computing needs are for stability over speed. As such, 16 Gb is likely excessive for most users but it is great for my needs and spirit. If the price is right (and with the Egg, patience is a virtue), the go for this RAM.

5 out of 5 eggsQuality Memory with lower than average latency

This review is from: Crucial Ballistix Tactical 8GB 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model BLT8G3D1608DT1TX0

Pros: Slightly lower latency than average DDR3 memory. Quality memory company.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Buy a set of two RAM cards to take advantage of dual channel memory support available on most motherboards for faster memory access.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome specs for a great price

This review is from: Crucial Ballistix Tactical 8GB 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model BLT8G3D1608DT1TX0

Pros: The latency speeds for this memory are some of the best and for a great price. Fairly low profile with the heat sinks. No issues found with memory so far

Cons: I do not have more of it :)

Other Thoughts: I recommend this memory hands down

4 out of 5 eggsGood

This review is from: Crucial Ballistix Tactical 8GB 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model BLT8G3D1608DT1TX0

Pros: CL8 , seems good for gaming,

Cons: Runs standard at 1333 , 1.5v

Other Thoughts: IV got 2 of these and they seem to be running good, no problems yet, but in the settings of the bios they are under clocked at what there rated for. Just had to change it to 1600 and possibly one above that

5 out of 5 eggs

This review is from: Crucial Ballistix Tactical 8GB 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model BLT8G3D1608DT1TX0

Pros: * Was the cheapest 8GB available at the time
* This one has tighter timings i.e CL8, unlike most 1600MHz kits which are CL9

Cons: * This is a single module, so if you buy a 2 of these, there is no guarantee that it will work. However in my case it did

3 out of 5 eggsLook for another stick

This review is from: Crucial Ballistix Tactical 8GB 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model BLT8G3D1608DT1TX0

Pros: Great, when it worked....

Cons: After 6 Months the product died on me. Unfortunately it was my only stick of ram in the pc so at the moment I can not use my pc. Would have been nice if my $80.00 purchase lasted more than half a year.

5 out of 5 eggsworks well with my intel E3 workstation: Crucial Ballistix 8GB 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model BLT8G3D1608DT1TX0

This review is from: Crucial Ballistix Tactical 8GB 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model BLT8G3D1608DT1TX0

Pros: Speed, price, and reliability.

Remember, with ram speed = MHz/latency

so look for the best MHz your motherboard can use, and find the best CAS latency, which should be listed as 4 numbers divided by "-"s. This ram has 8-8-8-24 timings, and has provided excellent performance.

Cons: Didn't magically keep my motherboard from dieing?

Other Thoughts: I'll likely be buying a second pair to fill my workstation up to its 32GB limit, once my motherboard is fixed.

5 out of 5 eggsDecent Ram

This review is from: Crucial Ballistix Tactical 8GB 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model BLT8G3D1608DT1TX0

Pros: Great price for single slot 8Gb stick with a nice stock speed.

Cons: Obviously not the fastest on the market.

Other Thoughts: I got this in hopes of placing this same stick in the next three slots, currently quite satisfied with the consistency and speed it has provided.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks

This review is from: Crucial Ballistix Tactical 8GB 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model BLT8G3D1608DT1TX0

Pros: Seated securely
After updating BIOS to run 1600 MHz, it clocks 8-8-8-24
Looks nice in my ASUS Z87 Pro

Cons: Initially reads at 1333 MHz, but is easily changed

Other Thoughts: Reads at 1333 MHz at 9-9-9-24; after updating BIOS to run 1600 MHz, it clocks 8-8-8-24
I plan on picking up a few more in the near future
