1 out of 5 eggsHuge Disappointment

Pros: None.

Cons: Had this drive almost 2 years. Purchased to use as (hopefully faster) boot drive on an older WinXP system. No improvement in performance and many, many issues, so gave up and used it as a backup drive only. With XP's end of life, decided to try installing Win7 on the SSD which I did successfully. Performance was mediocre, issues arose and increased, and the drive crapped out completely in less than 3 months. Tech who checked it out said it was showing as needing formatting.

Other Thoughts: Would not recommend to anyone. Looks like I'm not alone. Will try returning to Crucial. The 1TB HDD with which I replaced this as my Win7 boot disk is snappier than this SSD ever was.

1 out of 5 eggswalk away

Pros: no pros at all, not a single one

Cons: i work for a company that built an entire line of computers around this drive (over 200 systems), both the 128 and 256gb. they had nearly a 90% failure rate within 9 months, and a 100% over a year. these drives are complete junk, and even crucial recommends going with the M4 instead of the V4

Other Thoughts: if you absolutely have to go with crucial, go with the M4 series, less apt to fail. but all in all, there are many other drives out there of the same size that are faster and much less expensive

1 out of 5 eggsDO NOT BUY! Absolutely garbage!

Pros: None

Cons: Super slow, corrupts data all the time. I replaced my motherboard, ram, power supply. Eventually I replaced this SSD witha regular 500gb 7200rpm hard drive, I couldn't believe how much faster it was!! A month or so later this drive is totally dead :( I hope the RMA with Crucial goes good!

1 out of 5 eggs

Pros: none

Cons: slowest, and most unreliable drive made. After 1 year, Newegg won't replace, and neither will crucial. Total waste of time and money, drive only lasted 10 months.

Other Thoughts: You get what you pay for? Not in this case.

1 out of 5 eggsBad from the begining

Pros: None

Cons: Bought on 7/3/2013. Confirmed bad Sept. 15. I had a hard time believing that it could be the cause of the blue screens, MBR loss, failed back ups. I'll be returning it.

Other Thoughts: Hope they send me a better one. I hate doing restores.

1 out of 5 eggsQuit Working

Pros: No moving parts.

Cons: Quit working in less than a year. Laptop no longer reckonize the SSD. It was used very lightly. It was installed in my wifes laptop used mostly for internet surfing.

Other Thoughts: You would expect more from a device with no moving parts. SSD's do not live up to their hype.

1 out of 5 eggsLasted nearly a year

Pros: Lighter, quieter

Cons: Fast boot, slow updates

Other Thoughts: Used exclusively for Ubuntu 12.04 LTS. Fast boots and fairly quick application loading. However, every time update had to deal with large number of files (updating linux headers) the light would stay on steady and the machine would sit there for hours.

Finally, yesterday, the SMART system said that failure was imminent despite all the SMART tests reporting good. It was right! Read errors and the thing went casters up. Good thing I back up nightly.

Don't get this. Too good to be true.

3 out of 5 eggsIt's SATA II not SATA III

Pros: It's SATA 2.

Cons: It's not SATA 3.

Other Thoughts: I hope most of you realize that this drive is SATA 2 NOT SATA 3. That in and of its self makes this drive on par with mechanical drives as far as read/write speed goes. If you want speed GET THE M4. Some of you may want to adjust your tech level, it even states in the description its SATA 2.

1 out of 5 eggsDied in 4 Moths

Pros: Was very fast and reliable when I first received it the SSD.

Cons: I left the computer off for 48 hours and came back to where only the BIOS could read. Couldn't even recover it using Ubuntu.
