5 out of 5 eggsSynology DS-1815+

This review is from: Crucial 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Memory for Apple Model CT2K8G3S160BM

Pros: Works great for Synology DS-1815+ 8-bay NAS. Takes a little work to replace the inner 2gb module that is installed by default, but there's plenty of guides available online for the process.

Cons: None that I can think of.

5 out of 5 eggsMBP mid 2012, OS 10.8.5 preparing for El Cap.

This review is from: Crucial 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Memory for Apple Model CT2K8G3S160BM

Pros: works great, no problems, easy 5 min installation, great price

Cons: absolutely none.

Other Thoughts: Max the ram on your MBP. It's so simple; 10 screws, open it, ground yourself to the chassis, unplug the battery, pop the clips and remove the sticks, plug in and push down the new sticks one at a time, connect the battery, use some canned air and blow out the board and fans, wipe any other dirt, replace the cover, replace the 10 screws and good to go. After 2.5 years, I found the inside of MBP was dusting and I thought it would have been cleaner than that. Also run memtest or rember to test the new RAM.

5 out of 5 eggsgreat product

This review is from: Crucial 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Memory for Apple Model CT2K8G3S160BM

Pros: Was quite easy to install on mac mini 2012. Works as expected
Fast shipping

Cons: 2 x 8GB Rams came in package that holds 3 modules. Looks like this is a Bulk packaging item.

Other Thoughts: If you are planning to speed up your mac with extra RAM, also lookout for SSD upgrade. For me the upgrade from 4GB to 16 didn't boost system boot or app launch performance. But multitasking is now a lot better especially with Adobe Lightroom running.

5 out of 5 eggsInstalled in a Mac mini late 2012, took 3 minutes. Ran full test, 100% OK. Received product via Canada post within 2 business days and was able to track the delivery, excellent all around service.

This review is from: Crucial 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Memory for Apple Model CT2K8G3S160BM

Pros: Mini is working quicker. Service was quick and communications were clear.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: Upgrading the Mac mini to full 16gb RAM capacity is worthwhile and the price of the upgrade being in Canadian dollars is worthwhile given the current monetary situation between the American and Canadian dollars.

5 out of 5 eggsCan work in MBP late 2011

This review is from: Crucial 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Memory for Apple Model CT2K8G3S160BM

Pros: Works in the MBP 2011 even though it has a memory speed that is too fast. *** not perfect for this, but the memory is good.

Cons: I had to use one chip and one delivered with the MAC to slow the speed down. Now, it works just fine. When I used both chips the machine worked fine for 3 months then started to have occasional glitches/crashes. Finally, I got the gray startup and it would not boot. I had to re-install the OS.

Other Thoughts: It is better to actually get the memory that belongs with your MAC model. I tried to get a little exta because I have the Core i7 chip that supports that speed, but eventually I got burned.
