5 out of 5 eggsWorks great in MacBook Pro

Pros: Works great in my Mid 2012 MacBook Pro with OS X 10.8.3. I have been running this memory now for 2 months. It really helps out when running multiple VMs under VMware Fusion.

Cons: None

5 out of 5 eggsWorks Great - MacBook Pro Mid-2012

Pros: Installed in mid-2012 15" Core i7 MacBook Pro, took about 5 minutes to install. OS X 10.8.2 had no problems recognizing the new RAM, Lion Internet Diagnostics exhaustive test run found no issues. Performed two passes with Memtest86, no errors found. Been working reliably under full load.

Cons: None so far.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks Perfectly

Pros: Received package within 3 days and installation in an iMac (Late 2012) was extremely easy. Ram has been working flawlessly for 3 days with heavy usage.

Cons: It wasn't free.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat in late 2012 27" iMac

Pros: Really affordable upgrade from standard 8 GB of ram in this iMac. I saw high reviews from others for this Crucial ram, so I bought it. Very happy with the results.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: I was running very low on memory with Win 7 in Parallels. This 16 GB eliminates any concern about enough RAM for occasional Win 7 operation. Win 7 (in Parallel) rates this RAM at 7.8 in the Windows Experience Index.

5 out of 5 eggs16GB Works on 15-inch, mid 2012 non-Retina Macbook Pro

Pros: 16 GB 1600 Mhz DDR3 Crucial (Micron-branded | detected as manufacturer 0x802C) memory modules that worked immediately with my 15" mid-2012 non-Retina MacBook Pro. Apple doesn't support more than 8GB, but this is working proof it does work in an unsupported config and it works very well. I do a lot of work with VMWare Fusion (multiple virtual systems for product demonstrations and security auditing which requires a lot of memory and I'm easily using all 16GB of it due to the bad memory management in Mac OS X and not wanting to run the "purge" command every 15 minutes). Installed in about 10 minutes using just a Phillips #00 screwdriver (Youtube videos and iFixit instructions exist for this along with compatibility charts through EveryMac). Used Memtest86 to burn in the memory for a solid 48 hours before I did anything else to ensure there are no obvious issues.

Cons: Shipping could be faster. It did arrive in 7 days, but there was delayed online tracking of the package, issues going through various shipping carriers. Memory Packaging was more child-proof than I was expected and took one frustrating minute to get the memory module out of the plastic as I though I was going to break it. There is a made in china label if you care about this versus some of the other memory modules I have seen. The color of the PCB is old-school green and not some of the better looking blue, red, darker-green colors I've seen with other memory modules (like the original 8GB that came with my MBP).

Other Thoughts: Went to the Crucial website where the memory scanner will tell you what kind of memory modules your system will take. I received a different P/N and after exchange a few emails and livechat found out there are various P/Ns that Crucial will use. Settled on this one because of the "Apple-branded" marketing to give me more assurance it will work correctly the first time. Read a few complaint from other non-Crucial memory modules having compatibility issues especially ones with a different timing (CAS latency <> 11). While I know other memory modules from Crucial and other manufacturers will probably still work, the extra few bucks more during the time of ordering and a discount code made it easier to influence my purchase.
