5 out of 5 eggsworks great

This review is from: Crucial Ballistix Tactical 32GB (4 x 8GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3L 1600 (PC3L 12800) Low Profile Desktop Memory Model BLT4K8G3D1608ET3LX0

Pros: Using this in my ivy-bridge system and everything seems to work fine. The low profile is great if you need to squeeze these underneath a large cpu heatsink.

Cons: None

5 out of 5 eggsCrucial 32GB sticks

This review is from: Crucial Ballistix Tactical 32GB (4 x 8GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3L 1600 (PC3L 12800) Low Profile Desktop Memory Model BLT4K8G3D1608ET3LX0

Pros: Works..
Low profile, tiny sticks compared to most.
Seem OK for now, no issues posting with an ASRock Z97 Extreme6 (mobo purchased July 2014).
All 32GB seen.

Cons: Sharp heat sinks, just use protection when inserting to avoid cutting your fingers..
Timing didn't show up correctly within mobo, had to play with it a bit.

Other Thoughts: I didn't need these to be so low, probably could have went with normal sized ram. But, they do work.

Was posting as 1066mhz not 1600mhz. All good now, or so it seems.. Don't know why, mobo or mem sticks (1066 vs 1600mhz). Timing was correct though..

32GB made a difference though, only had 6GB before.

5 out of 5 eggsAmazing performance!

This review is from: Crucial Ballistix Tactical 32GB (4 x 8GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3L 1600 (PC3L 12800) Low Profile Desktop Memory Model BLT4K8G3D1608ET3LX0

Pros: This RAM is amazing. Compared to other DDR3 RAM in the same price range of ~$200 for 32 GB, this one is 1.35V (instead of 1.50V) and has the lowest CAS latency!

I benchmarked these 4 sticks at 1.35 V vs. 1.50 V at the same frequency and everything, and it saved 3 W of power.

Needless to say, I found no stability problems when running Memtest86+ on the 1600 MHz mode (XMP #1).

Cons: None - I only wish other manufacturers would make RAM as good as this product!

5 out of 5 eggsGood stuff is worth the price

This review is from: Crucial Ballistix Tactical 32GB (4 x 8GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3L 1600 (PC3L 12800) Low Profile Desktop Memory Model BLT4K8G3D1608ET3LX0

Pros: 32GB of low-latency RAM at 1.35v - the best of all worlds!

Cons: Like most really good things, cost.

Other Thoughts: Make sure to use the XMP setting if your motherboard can recognize it. The standard JDEC settings won't give you the right timings and/or voltage and doing it all manually isn't very fun. You can verify the timings and voltage with a tool like CPUz.

3 out of 5 eggsNot for Del XPS 8700

This review is from: Crucial Ballistix Tactical 32GB (4 x 8GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3L 1600 (PC3L 12800) Low Profile Desktop Memory Model BLT4K8G3D1608ET3LX0

Pros: Not compatible with dell XPS 8700 I update to the latest bios A08 at the time, still no luck.

Cons: Dell board comes with a very cheap BIOS/UEFI that does not support much variation for different RAM clock speeds. I first bought expensive RAM that supported 1660 MHz speeds, but in despite of that my XPS 8700 tower ran it only @ 1330 MHz.

Other Thoughts: I docket 2 eggs because I wasted time money and effort when there could have been a disclaimer in the overview alerting me the memory won’t run at 1600 on del XPS 8700 and the dell bios does not have advance override settings.

5 out of 5 eggsAmazing Ram

This review is from: Crucial Ballistix Tactical 32GB (4 x 8GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3L 1600 (PC3L 12800) Low Profile Desktop Memory Model BLT4K8G3D1608ET3LX0

Pros: speed, size, latency, voltage, and low profile these sticks are unbeatable in my opinion.

Cons: heat-sinks are a thin aluminum and glued on.

Other Thoughts: I normally use another brand but bought these for the low voltage, and I have only been impressed with these.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks Great!

This review is from: Crucial Ballistix Tactical 32GB (4 x 8GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3L 1600 (PC3L 12800) Low Profile Desktop Memory Model BLT4K8G3D1608ET3LX0

Pros: All four cards work optimally; no discrepancies between cards
Heat Spreaders are small but effective
Some clients might regard the Heat Spreaders as professional

Cons: Some clients might regard the Heat Spreaders as bland

Other Thoughts: Had to fiddle around in BIOS to set them to the 1600, though that was expected

The package the cards were sent in is great for storing unused or older RAM cards.

Pros: Low profile - no higher than the clips on the slots.
Low voltage - runs cool
Low CAS

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Relatively inexpensive for 32 GB.
Very inexpensive for low profile, low voltage, AND low CAS.

5 out of 5 eggsupdated review

This review is from: Crucial Ballistix Tactical 32GB (4 x 8GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3L 1600 (PC3L 12800) Low Profile Desktop Memory Model BLT4K8G3D1608ET3LX0

Pros: I have to update my earlier review of this RAM. Newegg should feel free to remove my earlier review. I earlier stated that only 3 out of 4 sticks worked. Upon further testing, I determined the problem to be my motherboard and was deceived because one particular stick seemed to not work whenever I inserted it.

However, based on what I learned, I replaced the mobo and now all 4 sticks work fine. The memory runs cool and overclocks without difficulty at stock timings. I'm still tweaking the systems but so far no difficulty at all. Current configuration includes this RAM, an ASUS Sabertooth 990FX R2.0 and a Phenom-II 955 moderately overclocked to 3.45 GHz. Low profile RAM fits very easily under my huge heatsink - much easier than the memory it replaces (4x2 GB Kingston HyperX). Now I can run all the virtual machines I need.

Cons: none.

4 out of 5 eggs1 bad stick

This review is from: Crucial Ballistix Tactical 32GB (4 x 8GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3L 1600 (PC3L 12800) Low Profile Desktop Memory Model BLT4K8G3D1608ET3LX0

Pros: Low profile, low power required. Fits under my huge processor heatsink. Asus mobo detected it as 9-9-9-24 but got voltage right. I haven't taken the time yet to tweak for optimum performance; since one stick is bad I will wait until I have a completely functional kit.

Cons: only 3 out of 4 sticks work; 4th stick causes no post regardless of slot it is placed in. Guess I have to RMA the whole kit...
