5 out of 5 eggsPlug 'n Play as it should

Pros: 4x4gb memory for HP Pavilion Elite motherboard: MS-7613 (Iona-GL8E) runs @ 1.35V like the orig. Elpida 2gb sticks...memory should be PnP and this is....no bios or any other MB modification necessary for these sticks...

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: Matching memory to a proprietary mb can be tricky...many reports of incompatible memory...Crucial confirmed THIS memory was a match to the HP Pavilion Elite series.... another 1.5v DIMM was as well, (told it would run @ 1.35v), but 1.35v seemed the safer installation.

Pros: Works great, low profile is perfect.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: "I need taller RAM" said nobody, ever. All RAM should be like this.

1 out of 5 eggsTerrible. Pins don't connect with motherboard

Pros: None

Cons: I was building my new computer and this caused me a lot of headaches. The pins weren't connecting with either sticks. So I RMA'd them and I had the same problem with those! Don't waste your time with these.

Other Thoughts: Motherboard I was using was

5 out of 5 eggsCrucial Ballistix Sport 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3 1600 Low Profile

Pros: 1. Install.
2. Start Computer.
3. Never think about it again.

* I haven't had a single problem since day one in June 2013.

* You won't notice in the real world, but some 2D benchmark scores are really impressive for this memory.

* These fit where most others won't - if you have clearance problems with a CPU cooler or a push/pull fan setup, these are the solution!

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: Although last week I "upgraded" (unnecessarily), I'm keeping these so if I ever have a problem with my new memory, these will go right back in and everything will be perfect again!

5 out of 5 eggsIdeal for compact builds

Pros: Sits flush with the RAM clips on the motherboard, allowing for plenty of custom CPU cooler configurations.

This RAM is clearly designed for compact systems, both in terms of physical dimensions and low voltage and other power consumption.

It looks great, too. Nothing flashy or obnoxious. Absolutely minimalist.

Cons: None that I can think of.

Other Thoughts: This is a niche product designed for compact systems with very specific requirements. Don't waste the $20 premium on this memory over other DDR3 1600 if you don't care about low voltage or height of the sticks.

1 out of 5 eggsLast Call for NewEgg and Crucial

Pros: None

Cons: Multiple. Client received this RAM free with a MB purchase. I spent countless hours trying to get it to work. If it hadn't been for MSI, I would probably still working on trying to get this to work.

Other Thoughts: DOES NOT WORK ON MSI BOARDS, NOR DOES MSI CERTIFY IT FOR USE WITH THEIR BOARDS. Ironically, these sticks came with a purchase of an MSI AMD based board. No one, and I mean no one, has owned up to this and has hidden behind their policies. Caveat Emptor. I will state this whole matter has cost NewEgg and Crucial my business and that of my client. I will no longer recommend either to my clients.

2 out of 5 eggsHit & Miss

Pros: Just works, if they work with your system.

9-9-9-24 and 1600MHz

Cons: Had to force 1.5 voltage and 1600MHz frequency to make it stable for my system. The motherboard wouldn't always autodetect the correct voltage/speed. So no power savings as I couldn't use the low voltage capability.

Other Thoughts: Purchased these in early 2013 and RMA'd so many times I don't recall the exact number I had to send back for replacement.

I tried these on two different AMD systems that I was building for my wife and I. Both Biostar motherboards, one with an FX-8350 and another with an FX-6350. Both motherboards, I had to force 1.5v as well as manually clock them to 1600MHz which completely negated the low voltage which was part of why I purchased these. However I understand that is a motherboard limitation and not a problem with the RAM.

That wasn't that big of a deal as I was able to get some of the sticks stable. However, usually one of two sticks was bad and would not post or only post at 1333MHz. Thus the RMA's. Not sure if the packaging wasn't protecting them well enough or poor quality control in the factory let this happen. Some sticks were completely unusable.

I got a stable set of 16GB (4 x 4GB) for my pc that has been running without any issues for over a year. However I needed 8GB for my wife's pc. After returning numerous sticks and having a set that worked, but only at 1333MHz, I called it quits and bought another brand for my wife’s PC. I am currently using the failed (1333MHz) sticks in an old PC that's paired with a Phenom II X4 970 with no problems.

I really like this RAM, just had a horrible time getting sticks that weren't DOA or could post at advertised speeds. I feel this is more a packaging or Quality Control issues than an actual issue with the RAM build and compatibility.

1 out of 5 eggsThis RAM

Pros: Look nice

Cons: DIDN'T WORK and the best part is i was very busy when building my computer so it took me a month to figure out what was wrong so they wouldn't give me a refund or even 4 sticks that worked

Other Thoughts: this ram came with my motherboard and didn't even work it came with a set and then i bought another set thinking oh this will work on my motherboard and... it didn't waste of money because i then went to a local shop and bought 16gs of ram there which ran me about $160... don't buy this ram and if your PC doesn't work with this ram send it back right away

5 out of 5 eggsWorks well

Pros: Works right of the box with my Haswell. Came free with my motherboard. Worked so well, I bought a second set. Swapped them out last week and put in my Sandy Bridge system and no issues. Set the XMP and runs at advertised speeds. Very short so it will fit under most heatsinks with no problem.

Cons: none that I can think of

Other Thoughts: Has two XMP profiles. #1 1600Mhz @ 1.35v and #2 1600Mhz@ 1.5v. Worked on Profile #1 for both my Gigabyte Z87 G1.Sniper M5 and Asrock P67 Fatality Pro.
