2 out of 5 eggsAsus M5A78L-M LX3 Desktop Motherboard - AMD 760G Chipset - Socket AM3+

Pros: Asus M5A78L-M LX3 Desktop Motherboard - AMD 760G Chipset - Socket AM3+ problems but look nice and finally got to work

Cons: was promised to work with my mother board "Asus M5A78L-M LX3 Desktop Motherboard - AMD 760G Chipset - Socket AM3+" first time around ononly one worked, then rma got back tested and this time seem like only one working again tested on other bbuild but this time none worked on mine... had to manual set in bios to 400mhz instead of 800mmhz and now they both work in my build but still only one works in other builds ??????? also had to set the timing to 9 9 9 24 if your having the same problem and you don't know much about pcs when your pc first starts up it, it will show a screen that gives your options based on what keys you hit "it only stays up for a sec or two" click the one that states bios "delete" on this board then go into jumper settings , then at the bottom their ram settings "something like dma" unclick auto to manual then "on this board" leave it on 400 then under that setting change from auto to manual and set thte first few number to
9

9
24
make sure your saving

Other Thoughts: im pasting my board so that people with the same problem might see it better

yes I have the latest bios !!!

4 out of 5 eggs3 out of 4 packages isn't bad

Pros: A. (See prior review on 2-25-23 for partial pros.) New computer built for a client, 2 packages purchased. This time, it was a MSI B75A-G43 LGA (N82E16813130651) motherboard. Works well if the ram is good.

B. Newegg RMA.

Cons: 1 package worked correctly, 1 package had 1 (or 2) bad sticks in it. Due to the two packages of ram being from different manufacturer batches (they had different "top left" serial numbers), the packages were tested "per package."

Other Thoughts: 3 out of 4 packages of ram working isn't bad. Welcome to the computer industry. Note for others: The issue was detected, during part testing, because the new build "acted like it had a power ground, IE: stop responding/auto reboot, seemingly randomly." The random was when the bad package of ram was called for. (It detected and setup on the board just fine.) Prime 95 is your friend for testing ram.

4 out of 5 eggsso far, so good

Pros: Low profile, low voltage. Memtest says they're good.

Cons: Can't get Intel DH77DF to boot with anything less than 1.4v going to these, even after (3/13) bios update. XMP profile selects 1.35v, but no boot. I suspect its not the ram, just finding the right manual settings in bios or waiting for the next bios update.

5 out of 5 eggsGood Low Profile Memory

Pros: VERY low profile, low voltage, stable, runs cool to the touch, good timings, good value

Cons: Does NOT run at advertised timing/speed/voltage using SPD unless XMP profile is selected.

Other Thoughts: Very stable memory running at specified settings. In the GA-Z77N-WIFI board I used it in, it is fast and reliable, and does not add any noticeable heat to a very small case. The DIMMs are no taller than the memory retaining clips to allow maximum air circulation around the CPU, and the even come with aluminum heat spreaders.

5 out of 5 eggsGood Stuff

Pros: Low Heatspreaders - lower than the clips
Runs as advertised OOB
Overclocks easily

Cons: Wasn't cheaper?

Other Thoughts: In all honesty its a bummer when you get faulty ram as some have, but I can tell you that my set is fabulous. No issues whatsoever, and the first set of ram that actually ran at XMP setting OOB.

Running on an Asrock z77 Exreme4-m.

Pros: Works as advertised, low profile, good speeds. Managed an Overclock just a bit as well. Fit nice on my mobo and again, just work well for the price.

Cons: Coulda been a few bucks cheaper, but its good stuff.

1 out of 5 eggsThird bad pair in a row.

Pros: Low profile is nice and the RAM looks wonderful.

Cons: This was my third bad pair of RAM in a row. Both sticks in the first pair were defective. One stick in the second pair was defective and then I got a third pair with another bad stick. This was the first and last Crucial branded product I'll buy, unless they somehow change my mind. Luckily Newegg is an amazing vendor and gave me a $10 gift card for a problem that wasn't even theirs.

Manufacturer Response:

2 out of 5 eggsDOA

Pros: Price and speed

Cons: Both chips are faulty. Computer randomly reboots and locks up. Ran Windows memory diagnostic and that locked up. Ran Memtest86+ and I got video glitches. I sometimes got the computer to boot but it got worse and worse. All brand new parts so I did the swap thing even taking memory from my other desktop and that worked fine.

Other Thoughts: I build computers all the time and Crucial is generally decent quality. Hope they will RMA it.

Manufacturer Response:

Hello,

Please contact our support at 1-800-336-8896 or use one of our on-line support options at http://www.crucial.com/help/ and we will assist you with troubleshooting or an RMA if necessary. We fully stand behind all of our products and would like to work with you to find a solution.
