5 out of 5 eggsLow Profile means low profile

Pros: Ran smoothly out of the box on XMP settings
1.35v instead of the typical 1.5v or even 1.65v of older DDR3 kits
Half-height modules, so this kit would probably be awesome in an ITX or some mico-PC build.

Cons: 1600Mhz isn't bleeding edge anymore, but nobody will notice the difference outside of select programs and benchmarks.
When people say they can feel the build quality, that may not work well in this instance as this kit feels like air. I actually thought the box was empty before I opened it.

Other Thoughts: "Low-profile" typically means the RAM kit doesn't have some oversized heatspreader on it, but in this instance it literally means half-height sticks. I've never seen a RAM kit that was half the height of a standard RAM module until now, the stock photos really don't do it justice. Some review sites have comparison photos...

3 out of 5 eggsOne module failed within a week

Pros: When it works, it works without issues. But not sure how long it will work.

Cons: Within 1 week, 1 out of 4 modules failed on me. The computer crashed and refused to reboot. Bios diagnostic beeps told me that it is memory error. By trial-and-error identified that one of the DIMMs is a faulty one.

Requested RMA. Since it was within return window Newegg accepted it. I am shipping it back to Newegg today. The replacement will arrive after the RMA is processed. That means around 1 week. In the mean time my new computer is sitting idle because it has no memory.

Manufacturer Response:

1 out of 5 eggsMemory Did Not Work

Pros: None, but that might not be because of the memory. See Cons below.

Cons: The memory did not work in the Asus motherboard. I did not check the Asus website to see if the memory worked in the motherboard. I have bought Crucial memory for many years. So I checked their site for memory specific to the Asus P8Z77-V Pro board, which I bought, but it does not work. After checking Asus about memory, the Crucial memory was not on their list. At this point, I'm sure the memrory, cpu and board are good.

Manufacturer Response:

Hello,

Your feedback is valuable to us, if you haven't yet, please contact our support at 1-800-336-8896 or online at http://www.crucial.com/help We stive for accuracy in our Memory Advisor for compatability. Your board shows as working with these modules on our list, perhaps there is a configuration issue or change we need to be aware of. Our support can work with you to confirm your configuration to troubleshoot BIOS, setup and other items that may help.

Regards,
Crucial

5 out of 5 eggsGreat LP kit!

Pros: SUPER low profile
32GB
Tight timings
1.35v
Micron chips!

Cons: Not CAS8 like the Tactical LPs

Other Thoughts: I had every intention of buying the Tactical LP kit over these which were literally yanked out of my cart before I could check out. If you read the reviews the performance between the two kits is negligible. The Tactical LPs OC a bit higher but the VLPs are still great. These sit flush to the DIMM channels which is great as you can run any CPU cooler you like without worry.

VERY pleased with this kit.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Main reason for getting this memory were the good CAS specification, the fact it's 32GB in a bundle, had integrated heat sinks, and that it would comfortably work with Asus P8z77-v motherboard and the huge Noctua NH-D14 cooler. Crucial's website had a nice validation page to ensure compatibility with the Asus P8z77-v motherboard too.

Cons: Had to RMA the first set I received, one of the 4 memory sticks wasn't working. Newegg's RMA process was simple, just wishing some sort of vendor QA could've caught the bad stick! Hence the loss of a single egg.

5 out of 5 eggsNice RAM

Pros: Lower voltage than most DDR3 3 ram. It also has a low profile (likely due to not making as much heat).

Cons: After 24 hours, Memtest x86 had only completed four passes! Not that the ram is slow, but 32GB is quite a bit to go through.

Other Thoughts: I have this ram in a home built ESXi 5.1 box. For ram, my main considerations were quantity, compatibility, and heat. I wanted as much ram as the system would support (32GB), went with Crucial as a safe choice, and I wanted something that ran at 1.35 volts rather than 1.5 (as seemed more common). I haven't had the ram that long, but usually after it survives a 24 hour burn-in, it's good.

5 out of 5 eggsVery Low Profile means VERY

Pros: Amazingly low profile. They're the height of the DIMM retention latches when installed! I'm surprised no one else has made any this small.
To top it off, they come w/ a few overclocking profiles, so you can run these at 1866 w/ 1.5V instead of the lower power 1.35.
Crucial did a great job...I'd buy these again w/o thinking twice :-)

Cons: They don't have massive heat spreaders for those of you that want some bling.
I love the clean look though.

5 out of 5 eggsReliable and just works

Pros: Low profile (although I did not require it)
Fast (9-9-9-24 1T timing)
Just works.

Cons: None, really. Got it on sale so I'm happy

Other Thoughts: Alienware Aurora R4, could not get 32GB kit of Corsair Vengeance working. Only 16GB at a time would work. Popped in these modules, and not only do they work, they work stable and at 9-9-9-24 1T are VERY FAST at 1600. Good job. I'm a bit disappointed that Corsair advertises their RAM as 1600, but it's really 1333 with XMP profile for 1600. Why? 1600 isn't bleeding edge. And at 10-10-10-27, Corsair isn't that fast or hot to require world's largest heatsinks.
