5 out of 5 eggsnice

This review is from: Crucial M500 CT120M500SSD1 7mm (with 9.5mm adapter) 2.5" MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD)

Pros: -it's a SSD
-decently sized
-nice speeds

Cons: -did not come with 2.5 to 3.5 bracket

Other Thoughts: not going to dock an egg for the lack of a bracket, as it doesn't really affect the product itself.

but I was kind of expecting that

5 out of 5 eggsRock Solid!

This review is from: Crucial M500 CT120M500SSD1 7mm (with 9.5mm adapter) 2.5" MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD)

Pros: Installed in a friend's Laptop which happens to be the exact model I have, and had zero issues! I have tried 2-3 SSDs in my laptop and although it runs great, it has always had issues waking from hybernation/sleep and sometimes the drive cannot be found on start but always works on reboot. I tried to get this drive to fart just once and never did! The drive scored 7.8 out of 7.9 on its portion of windows experience index. More than pleased; maybe I'll get one for myself

Cons: none

4 out of 5 eggsWorks well, slow write speeds in comparison

This review is from: Crucial M500 CT120M500SSD1 7mm (with 9.5mm adapter) 2.5" MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD)

Pros: Solid casing.
Worked OOTB with no issues

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: For speed, Blackmagic Disk Speed Test shows 118 write and 490 read. The write speed is fairly slow, but being a 120GB drive, it's okay. Read speed is where you'll see a big increase in how the computer actually feels to use. I can't believe I waited this long.

1 out of 5 eggsDisappointed, Didn't work

This review is from: Crucial M500 CT120M500SSD1 7mm (with 9.5mm adapter) 2.5" MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD)

Pros: None

Cons: I bought this hard drive with the intent of using it on my very first computer build. This SSD sat around for three months before I could anything with it. I used an external hard drive kit to convert SATA to USB (it also came with a power supply) and when I plugged this hard drive into my laptop to test it works it didn't show up anywhere. It didn't show up in device manager, It didn't show up in computer management, It didn't even show up in my laptop computers BIOS. This external hard drive kit was working perfectly fine with other hard drives so I know it is not the fault of the kit. I even booted into Linux to see if it would show up there. I Even tried this on other computers and even they didn't detect this drive. If no computer will detect this hard drive it is completely unusable and I cannot install windows to it. I believe this was a DOA dead on arrival SSD but I had no way to tell this because I had no way to read the SSD.

Other Thoughts: I bought this SSD because of the good reviews, I guess I was wrong to buy this and I am very disappointed.

5 out of 5 eggsVery pleased with the performance

This review is from: Crucial M500 CT120M500SSD1 7mm (with 9.5mm adapter) 2.5" MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD)

Pros: -Cheap (I think I paid 68 for it)
-Solid performance
-Fast bootup (under 10s)

Cons: -None really

Other Thoughts: I had a SanDisk mSATA SSD and a Seagate 5400rpm HDD in my laptop and I assumed that setup would be pretty fast, but I got all sorts of performance issues, so I deceided to replace them with this SSD. My laptop runns very smoothly, I get bootup times under 10s.

5 out of 5 eggsBoot Time Relief ;)

This review is from: Crucial M500 CT120M500SSD1 7mm (with 9.5mm adapter) 2.5" MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD)

Pros: Easy to install on my 2 netbooks - basically, just popped it in and did a fresh OS install. Longest part was disassembling and reassembling other machine parts around it. Shipped quickly, and arrived in good condition. Great price, and I love the boot time saved when compared to an HDD. One of these was for my son's netbook which he wanted to use as a note-taking aid in high school, where wake-up responsiveness was a critical factor - works like a charm, for that. For a little over $60 for this SSD upgrade, he gained all the "chipperness" of a tablet, while keeping decent keyboard capabilities- WELL worth the investment, for me. Having trusted their RAM for years, I like having the Crucial name, as well.

Cons: None, really. I know this isn't the fastest thing out there, but for entry level SSDs, this is definitely clutch, IMHO.

5 out of 5 eggsBargain SSD

This review is from: Crucial M500 CT120M500SSD1 7mm (with 9.5mm adapter) 2.5" MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD)

Pros: Built a rig for a family member and its working great. They had no idea how much faster an SSD is.

Windows is set to no-password, and this built achieves 13-second startups. I'm not talking 13 seconds until you see windows, I mean 13 seconds from pressing the power button to being able to double click the Firefox icon.

Cons: Nothing yet.

5 out of 5 eggsBeen solid so far

This review is from: Crucial M500 CT120M500SSD1 7mm (with 9.5mm adapter) 2.5" MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD)

Pros: Fast, Solid, works great so far. Price very competitively..

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: A touch slower the Samsung 840 EVO's but priced a good bit lower.. I have both and would purchase either one again.
