4 out of 5 eggsBSOD free

Pros: Cheap, large, everything I need it to be.

Cons: Couldn't get 1600 out of it, no changes or settings get that speed at all, and anything above 800 crashes instantly. it runs stable at 800 though. Minus two eggs for not advertised speed, but I'll give it one back incase it is actually the MB causing the issue. For info on latencies see the other thoughts section.

Doesn't come with a heat sink, but the temps are acceptable so I don't really care.

Had some BSOD issues the first week in a new build, but I was never able to track it down to exactly what was causing the error. Put the thing back together and haven't had the problem since.

Other Thoughts: Not the fastest I could find, but in an office computer, it works fine.

Here is some info straight from Speccy:

2 out of 5 eggsRAM issues

Pros: -16GB
-1600MHz
-On sale for $114.00

Cons: Towards the end of December one of these modules went bad and started referencing Memory BSOD. I originally thought it was my Crucial 128GB SSD as the issues when researching the BSOD kept pointing to the SSD.

After finally removing the SSD from the equation and using a backup HDD. The system seemed stable for a couple of hours.and then BSOD again with the same error. I removed one of the sticks of RAM and I've been using the system since with 0 BSOD. I have planed to contact Crucial about this in the near future.

Other Thoughts: When I used the backup HDD I reinstalled Windows just to make sure Windows wasn't having issues.

Manufacturer Response:

3 out of 5 eggsNot good for me

Pros: 16 GB, Speed detected automatically, quick replacement for faulty modules

Cons: Memory Errors causing BSODs after about a month, no heatsinks, feels flimsy

Other Thoughts: Added this to my ASUS P67 Sabertooth for an "upgrade". Worked for a few weeks, then started getting BSODs. Spent a bunch of time tracking down the RAM as the problem. Usually like Crucial stuff, but this was no good. Went back to Kingston, and no more trouble. They did exchange quickly, but don't want to lose more time with bad RAM.

Manufacturer Response:

Hello,

We offer a limited lifetime warranty on all our DRAM products and fully stand behind them. If you need any further assistance, please contact us directly at 1-800-336-8896 or online at www.crucial.com/help

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome RAM

Pros: Automatically enabled at full speed (1600) on my Biostar TA970 motherboard. Great performance in Battlefield 3.

Cons: No differentiation with heatsinks etc. But this is a value ram, no harm.

Other Thoughts: Other RAM would not achieve DDR3 out of the box, so I will be buying another kit of these to put 32GB in my server.
