Ideal for client computing, the Crucial m4 SSD provides benefits for notebooks, desktops, workstations, and industrial applications, as it features low power consumption, a lightweight construction, and resistance to shocks and vibrations.

5 out of 5 eggsGREAT Solid State Drive

Pros: Want super fast boots and programs that seem to be waiting for you? Get this drive. My Mac goes from cold to ready in less than 8 seconds.

Cons: Had to reformat the drive before my Mac would recognize it which isn't that hard. Just check the net for all of the easy how to's.

Other Thoughts: Get one.

5 out of 5 eggsEggcelent upgrade

Pros: Great price to performance/size ratio on this drive. Works great in a Windows or Mac (assuming the Mac has a replaceable drive).

Cons: Some folks may not care, but I don't often purchase recertified/refurbished gear that shows visible wear. The outside of this unit and decal were scratched on the one I purchased.

Other Thoughts: Purchasing a SSD equipped MacBook Pro made my non SSD equipped iMac feel so slow. This drive solved that problem with no issues.

5 out of 5 eggsDo not be taken back by the word REFURBISHED

Pros: Super Fast
Amazing Refresh Rate

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I have had this in my computer for over a week now and am in shock! I thought sense it was refurbished that i was going to have problems, but no! it has only been a dream. I took my HDD 750G out of my MBP and replaced it with this SSD drive. No lie, its night and day difference. I took the 750g and put it back in where my optical drive was. I now am going to buy another one of these just to replace the 750g again. 1T of SSD for me for under $650, ill take it!

1 out of 5 eggsNot Available

Pros: The price seemed ok.

Cons: No warranty, only 90 day replace. Item would not transfer to cart when showing in stock. Notified NE and they said it was in stock and promo working. Went back as soon as received email and it said sold out. A rip after trying all day to purchase item.

Other Thoughts: The read/write was not that good but at the price for size it seemed ok. NE needs to correct/repair their site for loading to cart to purchase.

5 out of 5 eggsSuperb Value...Thankx NEWEGG

Pros: This drive made a world of difference to my 2008 HP dv4-1140go laptop. That laptop had slowed down and had become irritating in every functionality. I followed every other procedure to speed it up. Even replaced the HDD with 7200 RPM but to no avail. Finally I happen to come across this wonderful $259.99 deals on and thought it was a great value to have a SSD with 512GB for that price. And voila it paid off the second I transferred the data to this SSD and inserted in HP dv4-1140go laptop. The laptop has BLAZING speeds now. What used to take forever to login and shutdown is just a matter of seconds now. What used drag just to launch a IE or Chrome is in mili-seconds now. Even the battery has extended life before the next recharge. I am elated at my decision to own this drive. Hopefully it should work for long time to come.

Cons: None as of now. Will update if I experience any in future

Other Thoughts: Newegg has been an excellent vendor in delivering products with great value and their customer care deserves A+++++

5 out of 5 eggsGREAT performance increase!

Pros: Screamin' fast. No other words need to be said.

Cons: Still pricey, but much less so than a year ago. A year from now you will be able to buy a 1TB drive for under 300 bucks, but in the meantime, this is the sweet spot.

Other Thoughts: I bought a refurb unit and held my breath. Once it came, I realized I needed to clone the HD, so I ended up having to order the cloning s/w and cable (20 bucks) direct from Crucial. Ran the cloning software, left the HD alone for a little over an hour, and it transferred everything flawlessly. Boot time from the second I turn on the power button to the login prompt on Win 7: 12 seconds. Love it!

If you are on the fence, jump off and dive right in! You will not regret it. ;-)
