Crucial 16GB Kit (8GB x 2) DDR3-1600 ECC UDIMM

The Crucial 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM ECC Unbuffered memory kit is a trusted, better-performing memory upgrade solution at a lower price. It delivers fast speed and low latency to address your daily needs in work and entertainment. It works at an ultra-low voltage of 1.35v for reliable performance. The small, slim design makes it seamlessly fit into any small systems.

Note:

To use this DDR3 memory kit, your system motherboard must have 240-pin DIMM slots and a DDR3-enabled chipset. This is because a DDR3 SDRAM DIMM will not fit into a standard DDR2 DIMM socket or a DDR DIMM socket.

general information

More power efficient. Less heat.

Meticulously designed to operate at a low voltage of 1.35V, this memory kit consumes less power and generates less heat, enhancing system stability.

5 out of 5 eggsGood memory at a good price. Works In SuperMicro X10s

Pros: Inexpensive compared to some EEC Un-Bufferred/Un-Registered DDR3. Has worked flawlessly for over a year in a X10SL7 in a FreeNAS implementation. Passed 48 hours of Memtest with 0 errors.
Downgraded FreeNAS box to a X9SCL with a i3-2100 and moved the motherboard with this RAM to my primary Desktop running Win 7Pro with no issues. Like this memory so I bought another kit to max the board out at 64GB. Transcodes BluRay Rips in 30 minutes with barely a whisper. Runs Photoshop/Lightroom CC well, ingesting images and creating previews is much improved.
Most of my hardware is bought at NewEgg as they provide an excellent selection, reasonable prices, fast delivery and have always treated me well when I need to RMA hardware.

Cons: None, Zip, Nada
I just wish Corsair and NewEgg would use the same part numbers on their sites so figuring which memory is compatible wouldn't be such a hassle but I suspect that issue is on Corsair's end.

5 out of 5 eggsUncomplicated budget memory

Pros: Lifetime warranty
Budget friendly
Low cost

Cons: None, as long as they hold up over time.

Other Thoughts: Dropped 2x8GB sticks into a small FreeNAS box that's been operating as descibed. Memtested out properly and having no trouble with an ASRock Rack C2550D4I that I paired them with.

As long as they hold up for a reasonable amount of time before needing warranty, then they'll be lovely.

5 out of 5 eggsTop Notch ECC RAM

Pros: ECC. If you don't know what it is, you don't need it.

Cons: costs a little more than regular RAM

Other Thoughts: Running 32Gb. Tested each stick in each slot for 7-8 passes of Mem86. Every stick and slot combination tested perfect 0 errors.

5 out of 5 eggsThey Work For Me

Pros: Crucial quality. Unbuffered ECC RAM for servers.

Cons: Cost, but then again nothing that's worth the money is ever free.

Other Thoughts: Installed in a Supermicro A1SRM-2558F motherboard. BIOS recognized RAM without any issues in "auto" mode.

5 out of 5 eggsGood memory

Pros: Don't have to fuss with BIOS automatically setting things right. And I'm a big believer in Crucial's quality, and also in their product support. And a great price too!

Cons: They're a little plain-looking. ;) Yeah, I know. :)

Other Thoughts: I've become a Crucial fan lately. Their products, right now at least, I feel completely confident buying.

5 out of 5 eggsI can't remember anything, so I bought this and it helped.

Pros: Works perfectly in my N40L Microserver. No excessive heat, no difficulty in fitting in the tiny mITX spaces in my little cube.

Cons: No problems, no cons.

4 out of 5 eggsWorks Great in Thinkserver TS140

Pros: Works Great in Thinkserver TS140. Is low voltage (1.35) like the memory that ships in the TS140.

Cons: More expensive than other brands but it is said on the web that Kingston sometimes isn't compatible with the TS140?

Other Thoughts: One egg off only because of the higher price.
