5 out of 5 eggsUsed to Max out memory on QNAP. Easy install. Worked without intervention.

Pros: Bought QNAP 4-bay with minimal memory and used this set to maximize the memory. Using QNAP as storage, media center and VM server. Have had no problem with memory.

Cons: none

5 out of 5 eggsNice 8GB upgrade for Toshiba Laptop

Pros: I installed this memory into my Toshiba L755D-S5218 laptop, going from 4 GB to 8 GB. I don't play games on this laptop, but I do multi task, opening several websites at a time and office programs etc. Over all the improvement is noticeable.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Memory on my laptop is operating as the following:
8.00 GB DDR3 @ 665MHz (9-9-9-24) (due to Motherboard limitation not a memory speed issue.

I also have a 240GB SSD hard drive installed.

Originally just starting Windows 7 would utilize 46% of the RAM (512mb allocated just for the video). On a normal basis, I would often be using 70-80% of the RAM and occasionally get out of memory warnings. Now I have sufficient memory available and the computer does seem to operate a bit quicker. (I was surprised that the performance was noticeable.) For my use and laptop, this upgrade was well worth it.

1 out of 5 eggsCrucial fault

Pros: No pros

Cons: Not working

Other Thoughts: Crucial chat advised that both CT2KIT51264BF160B and CT2KIT51264BF160BJ are compatible with Lenovo T500 upgrade. I went to Newegg and bought one of them. Not working.
After talking to them again, Crucial said there is noting they can do and that's how it is. So basically I am stuck with fees for shipping back to Newegg and also paying the restocking fee.
So beware, Crucial doesn't take responsibility for what they advise, and after that, they don't care if you need to pay extra fees to get rid of the product they said works, but it's not.
Very disappointing. If I could put negative amount of eggs, I would.

1 out of 5 eggsNot working

Pros: Price

Cons: Doesn't work

Other Thoughts: I talked to Crucial web site chat, to upgrade my Lenovo T500 with 2x4gb kit, and as per their site, this item is compatible http://www.crucial.com/usa/en/thinkpad-t500-series/CT5311315. Going to newegg.ca (since Crucial is a US site), I found 2 items, Item#: N82E16820148807 (CT2KIT51264BF160BJ) and Item #: N82E16820191523 (CT2KIT51264BF160B). Crucial support said they are both compatible. I ordered the cheaper one. But it doesn't work.
This is terrible since chat support said they both will work.
Crucial - can you advise please?

1 out of 5 eggsStill shipping the junk modules

Pros: Cheap

Cons: Non-functional with broadwell CPU.

Other Thoughts: Newegg is still shipping the modules ending in C8FND despite Crucial's claims that they are replacing their partner's stock.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: Upgrade from 2x2GB DDR3-1333 1.5V to 2x4GB DDR3-1600 1.35V and the clock speeds run at 1333.

1 out of 5 eggsIncompatible with Intel Broadwell NUC

Pros: One module can be installed.

Cons: Two modules installed in the NUC causes a memory error.

Other Thoughts: Crucial has confirmed on their site that there are two different versions of the RAM sold in this kit. One version was approved for the NUC and the other is incompatible. If you're a gambling person, buy this kit. If not, buy another brand. It pains me to say that since Crucial was always my go to RAM brand but I can't in good conscience recommend anyone buy this kit with the intention of using it in an Intel Broadwell NUC.

Manufacturer Response:

We’re sorry to hear that our memory has caused any issues. We have found a compatibility issue with a specific 4GB SODIMM module type which causes issues in the newer Broadwell-U platforms including the NUC. We have put a stop shipment on this specific module, which is a combination of a certain PCB and DRAM component. We have mapped our compatibility tools to suggest alternate, compatible modules. We replacing the current inventory at our partners, so please continue to order with confidence. It is also worth noting that the effected module continues to be compatible with all non Broadwell-U based platforms and configurations.

Customers experiencing issues with our 4GB SODIMM module on Broadwell-U platforms are advised to contact our support at 1-800-336-8915 in North America or online globally (http://www.crucial.com/help) for assistance and an alternate solution. We fully stand behind our products and will work with you to find a quick solution.

Regards,
Crucial

1 out of 5 eggsReceived bad RAM

Pros: No Pros for DOA!

Cons: I installed this in a new Intel NUC and started having blue screens about once per hour. After about 4 of them, I booted up the most recent version of memtestx86+ and it found numerous errors within the first minute of testing.

Other Thoughts: I wish quality control had caught this so I didn't have to return it immediately.
