5 out of 5 eggsRevived laptop

Pros: Needed to replace a very slow 5400rpm drive in an old laptop. As I didn't need much space I went with the 128GB version. Performance is now ridiculously improved and the laptop almost beats a new one at booting up, loading programs, etc. Well worth its cost!

Cons: None I can think of; Crucial may release a firmware update and I'll need to keep track of those, but that's for almost any SSD.

1 out of 5 eggsDon't Buy It!

Pros: Cheap

Cons: Terrible, I have had this for a year and I can't even click on a link on a webpage without this ssd maxing out the read speed. This should have at least lasted more than a year but about six months into using it it started locking up. This is also the slowest SSD I have ever used. I am a systems administrator and have purchased many SSDs and this one has never even come close to matching the others I have used. I would never buy this SSD again.

2 out of 5 eggsFailure

Pros: Budget SSD, Quick

Cons: Unreliable

Other Thoughts: Purchased this item for my first build around a year ago. Just yesterday the device decided to fail, making most files unobtainable from the ssd. Although frustrating, the device did it's job until this point. I don't think I can recommend this item anymore, especially to buyers looking to save a little bit of money on their builds.

5 out of 5 eggsVery fast, and very reliable

Pros: This drive is very fast and very reliable. I have been using this drive uninstalling, and installing games without it crashing. I HIGHLY recommend this drive. I have not have had any failures or signs of death, and still running like its new.

Cons: The plastic that you get with it, the small rectangle broke the day I got it from the box, but is still very useful.

Other Thoughts: If you are thinking of an SSD to buy, but don't need too much space, I would very much recommend this drive to use for anything.

1 out of 5 eggsFailed after 4 month light use

Pros: SSD

Cons: This SSD was NOT that fast for my home media center PC. I only put the OS on it and all the media files are on a separate hard drive. The used capacity was about 25%. It started to fail intermittently after 3 months of light use. In the beginning, the computer didn't boot up and kept on cycling through the Bios posting. Powering the computer off and letting it restart made it work again. Later, the SSD became completely dead.

Micron tech support said that the SSD got stuck with garbage collection. They asked me to power cycle the SSD 3 rounds of keeping it on for 30 minutes, and shut down for 30 seconds. It didn't help.

In the end, asked for RMA and got a refurbished replacement.

Other Thoughts: I googled and found that many people had the same issue as mine for this SSD. It is indeed a poorly engineered product. Not worth all the hassle in my opinion.

5 out of 5 eggsGood SSD

Pros: Runs extremely fast, large enough for the things I need, really tiny, has screws to fit into case trays.

Cons: I had to learn about hard drives. Spent a long time partitioning stuff, installing Windows and Ubuntu on flash drives, and accidentally wiped an external in the process. Not the SSD's fault, but it wasn't an easy install.

Other Thoughts: Seems pretty great so far. First ever SSD. Thanks a lot!

5 out of 5 eggsGreat for my OS

Pros: Great price for solid performance. Never used SSD before, so I'm used to HDD speeds. Using this one for my OS, the system just runs smoothly. Bootup time is a dream. And just enough size to put on my other applications. Games and personal files go on a separate 1TB HDD for now.

Cons: Relatively small size that's not going to fit it all. But perfect for your OS and apps.

Other Thoughts: Going to swap out my HDD for an SSD someday. But even then, I'd probably keep this one as my dedicated OS SSD.

Pros: Faster than I thought it would be. I put this in my wifes laptop and it boots very quickly and programs start up a lot faster. Price was good to.

Other Thoughts: Bought this not sure how good it was just follow instructions and you should be fine.
