5 out of 5 eggsCrucial MX100 SSD

Pros: I have had my new SSD running about 5 weeks now 24/7

It is in my laptop and the first thing I saw was the GPU temp dropped 15 degrees which is because the SSD is not running hot like the previous HDD......and of course it boots faster on those occasional reboots after an update (something I don't do very often)

Of course it is installed in about 1 minute.

The long part is installing the bios so that the new SSD will let you install the OS (mine is Win7) and that takes a couple hours since right now you have to add the 180 Windows Updates so the OS will run like it is supposed to.

Once finished it runs perfect with my 8-core i7 with 8GB Ram

Cons: Hey it would be a perfect world if the SSD came with the OS already installed for you so it would just be plug and play.

Other Thoughts: Now running 24/7 since 11/7/2014 .......never any problems and always reboots FAST now it is running Windows 10 .........so 16 months now always running the 8-core Asus laptop crunching Boinc tasks using the CPU and GPU processors.......SSD running COOL in this laptop.

5 out of 5 eggsDurable, Fast

Pros: Very fast drive, I had previously only used disc drives and this has been an object of envy among my HDD using friends. Seems I'm always the first one to load assets. I've been abusing my PC for about a year and have not had any issues related to this drive. Boot times now are marginally slower than when I initially built the PC, but I suspect that this is due to user neglect rather than product degradation. I am NOT nice to my build.

Cons: Storage space to price ratio was high when I purchased this drive. The price is currently around 60% what it was when I made my purchase 1 year ago. I have been using this as my only source of storage, so it has taken some constant monitoring to manage my data usage.

Other Thoughts: I built my PC in February 2015, wrote this review in Feb of 2016. Have recommended this drive to friends of mine.

I would strongly advise purchasing this drive if you have a larger HDD to store non-essential data. I have managed to function fairly well off of this drive exclusively, and am only just now investing in a second SSD to extend my storage cap. I am one of the only people I know of that is willing to constantly monitor my storage space in order to keep from maxing out drive space. If you are willing to put up with that inconvenience, this makes for a great standalone drive - Though I suggest shelling out the extra dollar for a 512GB if your budget allows it.

5 out of 5 eggsMy first SSD purchase

Pros: It's fast.
It was reasonably priced.
Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit along with the added programs I have at start-up, load in about 30 seconds.
Even the bloated browser Firefox loads almost as fast as I click on it.
Built 1 week ago, my new rig with this as the primary drive is amazing.
Enough space for the OS and assorted essential/entertainment programs, without wasting hundreds of GB of unused space.

Cons: nothing so far

Other Thoughts: Core items of this build:
- ASUS SABERTOOTH 990FX R2.0 AM3+ AMD 990FX + SB950 8 x SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX AMD Motherboard with UEFI BIOS

5 out of 5 eggsRock solid

Pros: We have been using this for just under a year and it has speed up my workstation. Being used in a business we can't be waiting for the machine constantly so when we popped this in it was like night and day making the machine fly.

Cons: Had to buy an adapter to install the drive in a standard 3.5" bay most drives have them be it a simple folded piece of metal

Other Thoughts: The hard part was finding the adapter on a Saturday in a small town. What i found was the http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817994083&cm_re=icy_dock-_-17-994-083-_-Product

Worked great no issues
