This review is from: Crucial MX100 CT256MX100SSD1 2.5" 256GB SATA III MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD)

Pros: Worked ok for a week! Thats not very long!!

Cons: Returned item per Crucial RMA instructions and they supose to have not received it ! Thats a little convenient for my taste. So now I'm out of 100.00.plus shipping costs! A word of caution make sure you have a trace applied to your return. Thanks DD

1 out of 5 eggsMX100 - unreliable - 100% activity - crashes PC

This review is from: Crucial MX100 CT256MX100SSD1 2.5" 256GB SATA III MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD)

Pros: fast

Cons: mx100 256gb on Win8.1 64bi - tfreezes with 100% activity, no reads or writes, just 100% activity, hangs system, must reboot to fix, unreliable, no firmware update available, piece of junk, don't buy until firmware fixed

Other Thoughts: have the M4, no problems with over 3 yrs usage

5 out of 5 eggsCrucial MX100 CT256MX100SSD

This review is from: Crucial MX100 CT256MX100SSD1 2.5" 256GB SATA III MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD)

Pros: This SSD drive is my first SSD drive and all I have to say is FAST,FAST, and yeah FAST. I can not believe I didn't get one of these sooner. Standard hard drives do NOT even come close to this SSD drive. I am totally sold on this drive, and Crucial and this product have done their homework and developed an affordable, dependable product once again. And get this, I am waiting for my new motherboard, but for now I'm using this on an older motherboard with SATAII so I'm only using 50% of the performance with this SSD drive and I am still very impressed. For though's who might not know SATAII's bandwidth is only 3.5Gbps as SATAIII has a bandwidth of 6.0Gbps which my new motherboard will have so once I get the new mobo I will be once again amazed because I will be using all 100% of the performance with this SSD drive which uses SATAIII. Can't wait! And the Acronis software which you will get a key for and a simple download and install of the program was easy as pie. Simple, once you get it installed launch the program and make a bootable cd with acronis on it. Power down and put the SSD drive in place of your boot drive and put your old boot drive as a secondary drive. Then boot from the boot cd you made select clone, then select automatic, then select the old boot drive as the drive you want to clone then select the SSD drive to clone to. Also select shut down on completion. That's it. No special adapters or hard drive enclosure to usb. Of course I put this in my desktop pc so it was pretty easy. On a laptop then you will need to have the adapters or hard drive enclosure via usb to do it but the steps are the same when using acronis. Thanks Crucial for an amazing product that is affordable to the average consumer and thanks to Newegg for all that you do for us computer geeks. I will never go back to a mechanical hard drive again.

Cons: Absolutely NONE!! Just wow!!

Other Thoughts: FAST, FAST , FAST!!! On SATAII My Windows 7 Professional boots up completely in 8 SECONDS!!! No joke...

5 out of 5 eggsFirst SSD

This review is from: Crucial MX100 CT256MX100SSD1 2.5" 256GB SATA III MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD)

Pros: Its running and appears to be working fine. Used the software supplied with the drive and cloned the old disk. Its on an Aspire netbook. Definitely faster than standard drive, viewing pictures, as quick as the next button is pushed.

Cons: None so far,

Other Thoughts: Its my first time using a SSD , for the price of these drives its worth the added cost vs standard drive, for laptop or notebook replacement.

5 out of 5 eggsWo-hoooooooo!

This review is from: Crucial MX100 CT256MX100SSD1 2.5" 256GB SATA III MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD)

Pros: good price;
good brand;
solid construction;
fast! fast! fast!;
silent.

Cons: none! i'll leave that for the benchmark pros, but seat-of-the-pants analysis says this drive is easily twice as fast as stock.

Other Thoughts: i added this drive to my mid 2009 aluminum macbook pro, along with a new LB1 battery, and 8g corsair ram, and let me tell you…hot dayumn! i mean…DAYUMN! let's go another five years and see what $250 will do for this mac!

1 out of 5 eggs

This review is from: Crucial MX100 CT256MX100SSD1 2.5" 256GB SATA III MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD)

Pros: Fastish

Cons: Short life, bought two to use in raid, one died in a couple months killing the raid drive. So much for extended life.

5 out of 5 eggsCrucial MX100 CT256 Great SSD

This review is from: Crucial MX100 CT256MX100SSD1 2.5" 256GB SATA III MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD)

Pros: This is a GREAT SSD. It has performed flawlessly as my Operating System (Windows 7 64 bit) and program disk. Fantastic access speed on boot up and opening programs. Data transfer at 6 GB is great.

Cons: Why did I wait so long to buy it?

Other Thoughts: Using it in a desktop system for my OS and all programs. It is completely quiet and extremely fast.

No cables or software were included with my disk, so make sure you have the needed power and data cables.

Newegg delivery rocks !!!
