1 out of 5 eggsNO.. NO.. NOOOOOOO

Pros: Size

Cons: Bought 2 - one died with NO warning at 2 years 3 months. Impressive? NOT. It has been written to only about 4 or 5 times(PROPERLY) Closer inspection revealed that this device actually has a 4gb MicroSD card in it! It can be removed easily with a razor blade from the side that plugs into the USB port. Card is sandwiched in the plug side. Further testing shows the CARD is ok. USB/Micro electronics have failed and not repairable due to manufacturing process used.

Other Thoughts: The adapter electronics sit within a drop of epoxy on the circuit board. ANY flexing could potentially destroy this device. Good concept, cheaply executed.javascript:Biz.Feedback.RateProduct.Form.submit('display')

5 out of 5 eggsUltra-small USB drive

Pros: I like using these drives with routers used in public spaces, because at first glance, it can look like part of the router since fits flush against an RT-N16s back panel. I have about 6 of these installed in this manner and so far, despite logs being written every hour to each drive, they're still plugging along after 6+ months.

Cons: Expensive for the capacity, long-term reliability unknown. While the orange stripe is easily covered up by a black marker, an all-white model would blend better.

1 out of 5 eggsShort Life Span

Pros: Very Small

Cons: I had the unit about 2 months and it died. I did call Lacie's tech service and they attempted to help but with the price I paid for it, it was easier to buy another drive. Not Lacie this time.

4 out of 5 eggsGood & Upgradeable

Pros: Love how small these things are, they do not sickout very far of the port. The software on them is very well designed.

These things use an Micro SD card for storage. If you apply some tape to the front of the USB you can remove the Micro SD card without taking apart the USB Drive.

Stock Micro SD Card Speed
Read: 13 MB/s
Write: 8 MB/s

Cons: The stock Micro SD card in these is a little show but of a decent quality. These things do get hot under use, but that is the SD cards fault.

These things do no distribute heat very well. It would be nice if they where all metal. That way the head of the dongle could act as a heat spreader

Other Thoughts: I replaced the SD card in my'n with a Class 6 and now it moves much faster. It is nice that these are like mini Micro SD card readers, I like being able to replace the memory card.

1 out of 5 eggsGood if used Infrequently

Pros: While the device was working it preformed up to my expectations and provided a very convenient form factor.

Cons: I purchased 5 of these drives in December 2010, Unfortunately each drive seems to have about a 1 to 2 month life span when used regularly. The first drive I used regularly died before the end of January. After which I started using another of these drives regularly. This drive lasted me from the end of January to the Middle of March. Again I started using another of these drives I bought after that it lasted until today(4/26). I still have 2 more of these drives that I am using infrequently however I will not trust these drives not to fail. Thankful I keep multiple backups but it would have been a huge issue otherwise. I'm pretty confident if I used these two drives in the same way they would fail as well. I want to be clear that I am NOT abusing these drives. When I say I use them regularly I mean I keep them in my pocket on my key chain everyday. During which I access the drive at least 5 to 10 times a day. I can't recommended buying this drive the failure rate is just to high.

Other Thoughts: When I say the drive died what I mean just that, one day it works the next you plug it in and it does nothing. In addition even with recovery tools the drive could not be resurrected in any condition.

5 out of 5 eggsPretty cool

Pros: Super portable. Easily fits inside the little change pocket in your jeans, or attached to a keychain.

Small size is nice for laptops, doesn't stick out far so it can't be knocked or broken off by accident.

Transfer rate seems ok. If you need to regularly transfer files under 1GB than this will work.

Cons: None, really. I hope I don't step on it.

5 out of 5 eggsSmall

Pros: Small
Small
Small

Cons: Small?

Other Thoughts: I really like this thing. It is nice and small but not so small it is cumbersome or unusable. Much better than the "sticks" out there. Recognized perfectly on multiple machines. I still need to test if my server can boot off it. The cap leash is nice. I need to check out their 8gb version. Good buy.
