Works and tough....
This review is from: LaCie 64GB RuggedKey USB 3.0 Flash Drive
Pros: After having my Patriot XP key break while inserted into my laptop ( I successfully resoldered, but trust was gone), I realized I needed something that was both better protected when pocketed and dependably more resilient when being used. The RuggedKey is that. The orange rubber sleeve is uber-protective, though optional, and and the stainless steel body of the key itself is affixed solidly to the USB connector. The body is also shorter than most, so less damaging leverage is exerted on the connector if accidentally pushed or struck while inserted in a USB port. It is also looks rather more tough than most keys even without the protective sleave. It also contains fairly sophisticated encryption software and it's very easy to create an encrypted and passworded partition. Large and small rings are nice option in the lanyard hole. Best feature is that I feel it is MUCH more reliable than previous keys I've used.
Cons: It's not as fast as some keys, but that was not my priority with this product. Orange sleeve is a bit bulky in the pocket, but not that bad. Sleeve can be separated from key, so it is possible to lose it. But none of these cons prohibit 5 stars for my purposes.
Other Thoughts: Glad I have it. I made mine bootable and put Win 7 setup disk on it as I'm getting ready to build my new Haswell machine. I'll put all my drivers and basic programs on it too as a convenient and much faster method of setting up my new computer than having to depend on optical drives.
