4 out of 5 eggsruns where other are not compatible

Pros: These modules have all the chips some older laptops need, 16 chips per module. They're not "64MX64" or "64Meg x 64" modules that use only 8 chips per module. (Look at the manufacturer's product pages for modules to make sure you get all the details on features that may or may not be compatible with your computer.) Two of these modules used together give 1 GB of RAM, where a 1 GB module would also not be compatible with some older laptops. I'm running an HP Pavilion ze4805us on these modules right now, a laptop that was new in 2004.

The GRUB bootloader memtest found no errors in this RAM.

No problem with fit or contacts either. They worked from the first time easily popping them in.

Cons: They seems to run rather hot. Better than not having enough RAM, but hotter than 256MB modules.

5 out of 5 eggsSony Vaio upgrade

Pros: I used it to upgrade an old SONY vaio laptop and it worked perfectly well! To think, that that laptop has some RAM compatibility issues before.

5 out of 5 eggsmemory clarification

Pros: this review is for all the people out there trying to upgrade their older laptops, in my case it's a 8yr. old HP Pavillion ze4560. The computer came with DDR266MHZ memory modules installed, two 256mb. DDR266MHZ dims. Chip density cannot exceed 32mb/chip. These are the chip's on the module itself. So in my case the memory I purchased had 16chip's on each Dimm at 32mb/chip added up to the 512mb. dim I needed, used two of these dimm's to upgrade from 512 mb to 1Gig. of total memory. Tried using Corsair and Crucial memory 512 dim's but they only used 8chips of 64mb/chip and these older laptops will not reconize anything over 32mb/chip density. Hope this help's some of you out there trying to upgrade instead of buying new!

Cons: none, worked as designed, you must know what your computer need's to operate correctly.

1 out of 5 eggsWasted my Money on this garbage

Pros: None - It did not work

Cons: Why does newegg sell this garbage? I am about fed up with them. How did they go bad so quickly? I used to NEVER have problems with them, but lately (in the last year) I have have several HORRIBLE experiences with them with their parts they sell. I am sorely disappointed, and now am stuck with defective garbage that is too expensive to send back. Boooo newegg, I will find another vendor now.

1 out of 5 eggsNo Good

Pros: None

Cons: Computer would not post while these modules were installed. Like another review stated, these modules feel a little loose in the socket when compared to the original memory.

Other Thoughts: Don't settle for cheap memory. Go with a brand you trust.

1 out of 5 eggsHorrible!

Pros: None.

Cons: DOA!!! Waste of time & money! Get your stuff together before you start selling products please. This is the first time this has happened to me and trust me this annoys the hell out of me! You should first test your products before they are sent out to prevent DOA's! Please consider your customers thoughts!

1 out of 5 eggsDidn't work

Pros: None. DOA

Cons: Installed 2x512 modules - seemed a little loose in the memory slots. Dell C640 would not post - powered itself off without a beep. Tried each stick separately in a similar older Toshiba - also would not boot. Tried the single no-name 266/512 stick from the Toshiba in the Dell - it booted and ran fine. Labels on boxes read AllComponents - labels on sticks are AVANT. Same company?

Other Thoughts: Bought as an upgrade for a Dell C640 laptop. Had 2x256 PC2100/266 Hynix chips, wanted to max it out to 2x512. Use this old laptop to interface with theater lighting equipment which use a COM port to reprogram. Should have known better than try to save a couple of dollars.
