1 out of 5 eggsDoes Not Perform at Labeled Specifications

Pros: It does work, but not for what I purchased it for.

Cons: The card bears a sticker saying it can read at 60 MB/sec and write at 25 MB/sec. It can't. See benchmarks in "other thoughts." I absolutely detest when companies ship products that don't perform at spec because it wastes my time when I have to debug issues that are ultimately traceable to the specifications being lies.

The card is also supposedly UDMA 0-5 compatible. I question this as well, because I could never get a system to boot from the card. As soon as I replaced the card with another card (with literally the exact same data imaged to it on the same reader), it booted.

Other Thoughts: Raw I/O (without any filesystem) performance measured from the Ubuntu 11.04 disk utility:

Minimum Read Rate: 13.2 MB/s
Maximum Read Rate: 14.5 MB/s
Average Read Rate: 14.2 MB/s

Minimum Write Rate: 2.1 MB/s
Maximum Write Rate: 12.9 MB/s
Average Write Rate: 5.2 MB/s

Average Access Time: 1.3 ms

1 out of 5 eggsSlow

Pros: Hi capacity

Cons: This thing craws in my Canon 7D a single photograph in raw mode take over 5 seconds for the buffer to write.
The same photograph parameters using a non UMDA name brand 30MB/s CF card takes just under 2 seconds to write.

Other Thoughts: I will be returning this card for a brand name I can trust.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: I installed this in an iPod 5th Gen video with the adapter from tarkan akdam. The ipod doesnt have any more delay caused by the old mechanical hard drive spinning up. ATTO disk benchmark shows about 16 MB/s Read and 11 MB/s Write through the ipod connected by USB. This swap makes my ipod much lighter.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Shipped via DHL. Boooo.

5 out of 5 eggsWorth it

Pros: large capacity and high speed to price ratio

x166 write speed

Cons: Warranty could be longer...ugly?

Other Thoughts: For slightly more money than a write speed of x133 i think this is a very good card.

I've tested it out with the Transcend multi-card reader and it's fast.I could transfer a movie that was slightly under a gig to and from it and watch the movie from the card without any hiccups.

In my 5d Mark II and i can shoot in burst mode at the full 3.9 fps and theres no stuttering in video mode at 30 or 24fps.

Is this the fastest card around? No, but i think it falls well within its advertised speeds of x400read x166write.

5 eggs for doing everything it should do for the right price. no more, no less.

If I have any discoveries or do any hard data transfer tests i'll update.

4 out of 5 eggsNot incredibly fast.

Pros: This card has huge capacity with a great price tag.

Cons: It just doesnt' seem to be as fast as it should. This card is sold as a 400x (w/166x write) speed card that performs more like a 133x card in my Sony DSLR.

Other Thoughts: Someone really needs to compare this card head to head with some others in a few cameras to see if we can get an actual metric on its speed.

My only comparison is this: Shooting full-size RAW images over 15 seconds (to be sure to the buffer is full)...
This card = 12 shots
Lexar Pro 300x = 18 shots

4 out of 5 eggsSo far so good

Pros: Capacity

Cons: Review time on camera is slow

Other Thoughts: I bought this after difficulties with a different CF manufacturer (card would not format in 5D mk II, nor could it be read), and am so far satisfied.

I wanted a large capacity card because I shoot mostly video on the Canon 7D & 5D mk II. The read and write speeds are decent; I'll run some tests to see if they're actually as fast as they claim to be.

I've used two of these cards on several shoots, and so far have had no problems. The only slight issue is the review time of videos--there's a hesitation for the camera to read the data immediately, but this is a very slight minus.

I'll update my review with the read/write speeds soon, but thought I'd offer something for now seeing as though no one else has reviewed them. I would buy them again.
