1 out of 5 eggsRisky Purchase

Pros: Looks cool in my black case..

Cons: Never worked or showed any sign of even being hooked up. Built a new rig and this was the only component that has never worked. I tried it on my old PC and still nothing. I'm a procrastinator so I can't return it.

Other Thoughts: I'm happy with the rest of my build and Newegg has been superb with everything else.

1 out of 5 eggsSame as others report: junk

Pros: None

Cons: As others have reported, the SD slot does not work. Very surprised and disappointed that Newegg continues to carry this kind of junk.

1 out of 5 eggscheap junk, defective

Pros: none

Cons: Tried this Card Reader in 2 different PC's the SDHC slot does not work, the UBS slot does work, tried reinstalling drivers and everything I could do but still SDHC slot doesn't read the card. The drives doesn't show up on Windows 7. Comes in a generic box it doesn't say Koutech anywhere on it.

Also the tight fit on the SDHC slot also causes the lock on the SDHC card to slide into a locked position I have to use tweezers to keep in in place while sliding it in the slot, none of my other 2 Card Readers do this.

I got refund from Newegg but lost shipping fees for their defective product, best to buy risky products from stores that cover shipping on defective returns.

1 out of 5 eggsDead after a week

Pros: Cheap, Black, included 4 screws.

Cons: Won't read or write to SD card after one week. Not worth sending back. Maybe all of these readers are low quality, since other brands seem to have the same reviews. chose a more expensive one from another company that has a name like a jungle. Hope that one works. My old one worked fine, but would not read SDHC cards, only the slower SD cards.

Other Thoughts: Don't bother with this one unless you enjoy taking your case apart and putting it back together.

5 out of 5 eggsWorking as expected

Pros: Easy install with plenty of cable to reach the mobo headers. Optional white faceplate is nice if you need it and the build quality is good. Working as expected no issue I bought two and both have worked fine when needed.

Cons: none so far

5 out of 5 eggsReads just about any card

Pros: The card reader reads almost any card.

The card reader does not have a blindingly bright LED that stays on all the time and annoys you.

The card reader seems to be built sturdy. With some card readers, the card slots or the USB slot seem to be so fragile that they will break after a few uses. That is not the case with this card reader.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: This card reader does cost a few dollars more than some other card readers. That is probably due to the fact that it reads so many different cards while some other card readers do not. However, with this card reader, an adapter will not have to be purchased when a new device is acquired. For that reason, it is probably worth it.

Installation under Widows7 is very easy. After you install the card reader into the case and plug it into the mainboard, all you have to do is start Windows. Windows7 will automatically install the drivers and you can be working with cards from your digital camera, camcorder, or phone within 1 minute.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks as advertised

Pros: Cheap, all slots work well, painless install

Cons: The beige faceplate they include would be cooler if it was white (does anyone rock a beige case anymore? yuck.)

Other Thoughts: Download latest drivers from their site, the disc is already outdated (business as usual for most of us)

3 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Worked right out of the box without issues. Reads all the card formats I'll use it for. Screw holes on sides of unit were drilled and tapped.

Cons: One set of screw holes on bottom of unit were only drilled at the factory and not tapped. Good think I had a tap set handy to tap the holes, otherwise I wouldn't have been able to screw it into the APEX DM-318 Black Steel Micro ATX Media Center case I purchased.
