1 out of 5 eggsWould not work properly

Pros: USB ports worked...

Cons: Everything other than the USB ports would not work. Even talked with Koutech Tech Support. All they would do is say "Install the Drivers and reboot your computer". After doing that...5 times, I gave up. Got a replacement from NewEgg, same issues & same response from Koutech Tech Support

Other Thoughts: Will never buy something from this company again. Poor Tech Support service, 2 items that do not work out of the box...just not going to waste my time

1 out of 5 eggsDidn't Work

Pros: USB ports worked.

Cons: Card reader didn't work. The computer didn't see it nor an SD card inserted in the reader.

Other Thoughts: When the card reader didn't work, I contacted Koutech by email. It took them two days to respond and then it was to ask a bunch of questions, half of which I had already anwered in my initial email. Too little, too late. By then, I had already made arrangements to return the reader to NewEgg.

1 out of 5 eggsSlow on Windows 8

Pros: Doesn't require a 20 pin motherboard header.
Internal 3 port hub.
Integrated Card reader

Cons: Driver won't load on Windows 8. The installer crashes. It shows up in device manager as "USB Superspeed Hub (non-functional)."

Other Thoughts: It functions, but it's stuck at USB2.0 speeds under Windows 8.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks perfectly

Pros: Installed perfectly on Server 2008 R2 using the drivers on the CD. I opted for adding an internal USB3 port with a PCIe card instead of running the cord out the back (the back bracket can be removed from the USB cord).

Cons: The power cable is a little shorter than I'd like, but definitely not a dealbreaker.

Other Thoughts: Been running non-stop in Afghanistan around a squadron of Marines for almost two months and still works perfectly. Can't ask for much more than that.

4 out of 5 eggsNicely built

Pros: Memory drive letters do NOT show up until a memory stick is installed!!, Powered USb3.0 hub gives 3 USB3 ports on front

Cons: $45 for a usb3 hub is expensive.

Other Thoughts: Would be VERY nice if it came with an Internal USb3 card instead of using the "loop through the case to the back of the computer" cord. Just bought 2 more for other computers

1 out of 5 eggs1/2 DOA

Pros: USB ports work out of the box

Cons: Card reader did not work out of the box. Followed all instructions...what little there was. Contacted tech support...RMA'd the item with Newegg. Got another one for replacement...same problem. Sending back for refund now.

Other Thoughts: I'll never buy a product again from this company. Although their tech support was helpful, Quality Control is bad.

2 out of 5 eggsOne big short-coming

Pros: Looks good , reads mini/micro sd , three USB3 ports

Cons: Does not come with a connector for motherboard USB 3 connections. Unless your motherboard has an external USB connection, you will have to route the cable through your computer to a USB 3 port in the back.

Additionally, if you have an extended case, even that option may not work.

Other Thoughts: Yes I can order usb3 a motherboard connector, But for 50 bucks it should've been in the box.

If it had included an internal motherboard connector, I would have given it five eggs

5 out of 5 eggsGreat front media port

Pros: 3 USB3 ports
SD, micro SD, MS ports

Cons: Would be nice to see more USB ports, ESATA, CF, XD

Other Thoughts: I bought this panel in order to add front USB3 and SD access to my computer build from about one year ago. My case, a Cooler Master, was advertised as having front USB3, but in fact had four USB2 ports. This panel solves that problem and adds convenient SD (the only flash ram I use) access to the front of the computer. The price was fair. I only knocked one egg as I thought a perfect product would have more flash ram types, notably CF and XD. Still, it addresses all of my needs and gives me plenty of speedy USB3. While I would like to have had four ports, I don't know what I am going to do that needs 3 USB3 ports.

Great little device at a decent price

5 out of 5 eggsGreat reader

Pros: This is probably the best internal reader on the market right now.More expensive than others but it's one of the very few where you get an SD reader connected to USB 3.0 AND a USB 3.0 hub (3 ports available as one is used by the reader). The reader suppoerts SDXC and also is UHS-I so if you have one of those newer cards in 64 GB or more your transfer time will be reduced considerably.
The reader and the hub works well, the cable is long enough for a full tower case. I use an internal port as I have a PCIe USB 3.0 card which has one, but the unit comes with a bracket so you can connect it to an external port also. Don'r forget to connect the molex connector, as the hub should be able to provide 1 A on each USB 3.0 port.
The unit does not require drivers but it has a program, which will add icons to your cards when plugged in (works in W7 x64). However this is not required, the unit will work without this. All in all a great unit.

Cons: None really, except the price which is higher than other units, but you get what you pay for. The molex power cable could be a little bit longer, but you can get around this.

Other Thoughts: If you need a fast internal USB 3.0 SD/SDXC with UHS-I support , this is your best choice. You get also 3 USB 3.0 ports. You don't get a lot of unusefull features, which most don't use. The reader has SD and MS support, if you still use a CF card you will need another reader but most consumers don't use CF anymore. If you don't need the HUB there is another USB 3.0 model cheaper, but in most cases you will benefit of the fromt USB 3.0 ports, if your case is older.

4 out of 5 eggsIts Pretty Good

Pros: Not DOA. Works at expected speeds. There is also no GIANT CF slot or Extreme Digital slot that I will never use. Gives me 3 extra ports in the front of my case and a SD & Micro SD to boot.

Cons: I'm not sure if anyone is having similar problems, but since there are no drivers available to install because it works by means of PnP (Plug n Play), my system fails to to recognize that it is still plugged in after waking up from sleep mode. Therefore, I have to reach around the back of my case and unplug it, then re-plug it in to get the drivers to load. It doesn't bother me to much but I had to knock off an egg because of it.

I would also like to see the price fall a little bit considering that it has a USB 3.0 cord extend from the card reader itself, out through the back of your case. That is unless you purchase an internal PCI-E adapter to plug it into (such as this: Item# N82E16815201035).

Other Thoughts: The length of the core is about 24in. (2ft). It fits a Micro ATX mid tower case just fine. This is the case that I have: Item# N82E16811154071. It fits perfect and the cord length is not an issue.

If you have a full size ATX tower, you may have issues with the cord not being able to reach your USB 3.0 port on the back of your case unless you purchase something like the PCI-E adapter mentioned above.
