2 out of 5 eggsDidn't meet my needs

Pros: Newegg got the product to me in just 2 days! Amazing!

Cons: The product is low quality.

Media cards slip in and out of the slots easily with no lock or grip to hold them in place.

The cable is too short to reach my motherboard.

Product is too short to reach the second pair of screw holes in the 3.5 slot.

4 out of 5 eggsWorks better than I expected

Pros: I expected the worst after reading all the reviews on this and similar inexpensive internal readers. I was surprised, it works great with the USB, SD and CF cards I've tested it with (including 2Gb high speed cards), it looks good and all four screw holes were in just the right place for my Antec case's floppy cage. Easy to install too.

Cons: Before I installed it I checked to see how the cards loaded and discovered the SD card couldn't be inserted because the cradle was too far over on the circuit board. I took the thing apart and removed the board, stuck an SD and a CF card in the slots and re-assembled it with the cards in place. This moved the board over just enough that now it works fine.

Other Thoughts: I was worried it wouldn't recognize the newer 2GB cards I had but it worked fine. It will write from one card to another and the USB port works at 2.0 speeds. I can see where the cord would be short for a full tower case, mine is a mid tower and it just made it. Changing out the cord would be really simple though, it has a a USB header block on each end.

4 out of 5 eggs3.5in. Space

Pros: convienient install if 3.5in fired up right away on my Ecs mobo

Cons: not 5in. had to file out a blank space plate and glue it in. Didnt fire up right away on my foxconn mobo

Other Thoughts: If you are young and wonder what that little space is for on the front of your case between your SATA 180GB harddrive and your dvdRW its for one of these, if this isnt built into your case already, what's a floppy ,1.8 what!!?

2 out of 5 eggsInternal Header Cable Too Short

Pros: None compared to other models.

Cons: The internal cable is way too short. If you have a full tower case, it will NOT work for you.

It doesn't support all the card formats such as xD-Picture cards.

Other Thoughts: Take a look at the Vantec V13-3218 internal card reader. It has a longer cable, and supports more formats.

4 out of 5 eggsNice for the price

Pros: Worked right away with XP.

Cons: A little short, like another member posted. But the screws do hold in very securly. I as well don't like the way cards don't seem to "lock" into place. I'm always afraid one will fall out while I'm using the unit. So far no trouble though.

Other Thoughts: Havn't tried the USB yet, so I don't know if it's true 2.0 or not. I do like the way it connected to the motherboard.

Pros: Worked well the first time I used it

Cons: The CF receptacle broke the 2nd time I inserted a card (and yes, I was gentle).

2 out of 5 eggsDoes not support 2.0 in XP sp2

Pros: Looks good, easy to install, detected immediately by XP, appreciate the direct connection to my internal MB pins.

Cons: Detected by XP Pro sp2 but does not support 2.0. Installation CD only includes self-running installation for 98 and 2k. Tried 2k version but was booted off at the first screen. Wouldn't have bought this if I had known.

Other Thoughts: New Egg should change description to reflect this problem.
