4 out of 5 eggsOK on Linux - Ubuntu Edgy/Feisty

Pros: does what it promises, small, easy to use

Cons: LED is on top, not easy to see from the front. USB connector came unsoldered during abuse.

Other Thoughts: I bought this for work. We needed to write OS images a bunch of CF cards for a project. It works fine under Ubuntu, fast writes and reads, painless setup. The USB connector came unsoldered when I pulled the cover off to see what chip it used, but it was easily reattached. So far, no complaints, and it's happily stuck to the side of my workstation.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks well

Pros: Cheap and it works. No effort needed for 2K/XP or any recent Linux distro. I used this with Ubuntu, SuSE, and Gentoo and had zero issues.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: Just be careful not to force your media into the multi purpose slots

2 out of 5 eggsDoesn't work for large SD

Pros: This has been a workhorse for me over the past year. It was easy to install and worked perfectly.

Cons: However, when I recently bought a 4gb Trancend 150x card, it will not recognize the card. I made sure I have the latest driver, etc.

Other Thoughts: I believe this device will work perfectly for cards under 1gb. I'm off to look for another product that can handle larger SD memory cards.

3 out of 5 eggsMax 1 gig SD card size

Pros: Lots of options, will read a 4 Gig Compact Flash card.

Cons: Unable to use SD cards above 1 Gig Even if formatted with another reader, this can SEE above 1 gig, but once you try to write past the 1 gig mark, you'll get errors.

4 out of 5 eggsDecent for the price

Pros: Decent price, it was able to recognize a 4 GIG Transcent 120X Compact Flash card with no problem. CF transfer speeds are decent as well.

Cons: For some reason, it would not properly format a 4 GIG SD card. Once I had formatted in the card with another reader, this will see it just fine though. SD transfer speeds weren't very good (about 3-4 MB/sec using a 150X SD card)

5 out of 5 eggsIOGEAR 14-in-4----Rocks!

Pros: Very good card reader. I use the card reader instead of the hook up my Canon A620. The pictures really come off fast the using the Ritek 1G, 150x. NO problems.

Cons: none

5 out of 5 eggsworks just fine

Comments: got it 6 months ago, and didn't have any problem wit it since that time. Tried with 2 type of cards (compact flash, SD).
The device is working equally fine under both Windows and Linux. No question to external design - it is simple and stylish.
