5 out of 5 eggsgreat SSD

Pros: Fast, quiet, no vibrations in the laptop, runs cool, Intel quality and reliability.

Cons: Can't run TRIM on Mac OS X yet, but that's changing when Lion comes out.

Other Thoughts: Bought this to be the boot drive in my Macbook Pro. It's been great so far, the laptop boots up and shuts down even faster than it did before. I removed the optical drive to make room for this and am using the existing 500GB drive for data.

5 out of 5 eggsA worthwhile upgrade

Pros: Got this as an upgrade for my laptop. Noticed an immediate performance increase, as well as slightly longer battery life. Switching from a HDD to an SSD is one of the most dramatic upgrades out there.

Cons: Price compared to that of hard drives.

5 out of 5 eggs1st SSD & and wont be the last!!!

Pros: Fast!!! Boots 64bit win7 in seconds.
Programs load and install very quickly including those .NET updates that used to take a 1/2 hr. to install.

Cons: Cost/GB - would've liked to have gotten a larger drive but couldn't justify the cost with an unknown product. :(
Does not come w/ a 3.5 to 2.5 adapter. No prob as there are no moving parts and it's in a stationary system. I just let it sit inside the case for now.

Other Thoughts: Used for HTPC build

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Drive

Pros: Super fast drive, im running an i7 860 with only 4GB of DDR3 dual channel. Cold boot is about 35seconds on Win7 64x and reboot in less than a minute. Screaming fast while installing apps and running them as well.

Cons: Not many, though I hear rumors that the drive degrades over time...we'll see

Other Thoughts: Highly recommended for someone building a system to buy this drive as their primary OS drive.

4 out of 5 eggsAwesome SSD drive.

Pros: when i built my computer last year the only thing i didn't do was purchase a SSD drive for my system partition. this drive has completed my hopes for this rig. OS loads quickly, and Windows 7 automatically made all necessary changes to the way in which it operates.

Cons: I always need more drive space.

Other Thoughts: Good drive great buy

5 out of 5 eggsWorks like a charm

Pros: I installed the drive last August. I use OS X so I have no opportunity to TRIM without a wipe. Even without TRIM I have not noticed much slowdown, but then again I am not a heavy user. Still boots in ~20 seconds. Best upgrade I've ever done.

Cons: It's annoying using machines with mechanical drives now.

Other Thoughts: If you're looking for a boot drive I'd go with a smaller size. I bought this to dual boot OS X and 7 and I've still got ~40GB empty, which by today's rate is about $100. If you want to be safe, 16GB for OS X and 32GB for 7 would be more than sufficient.

4 out of 5 eggsOK?

Pros: Silent, takes up very little space

Cons: Price per gig. VERY little difference between this and raptors in raid as far as speed...I don't care what anyone else says. Save your money, wait until the price comes down and storage goes up.

Other Thoughts: Don't know why Intel says disable raid...this drive will work with mobo and HDDs set in Raid...How do you know if your trim is working?
Intel tool box, drive information, if line 169 bit value is 1....trim is on, and working. (0 = no trim)

Also make sure you disable any scheduled disc maintenance in Windows for this drive. DO NOT do disc clean up on this drive from Windows.

5 out of 5 eggsGood by mechanical boot drives

Pros: This is hands down the best SSD aimed for the enthusiast market. I spent over 4 months scavenging the net through average user reviews and expert reviews. Intel makes the most reliable, TRIM Supported solid state drives on the market. Read times are amazing. Write times not so much. Best boot drive on the market. For the novice TRIM is the equivalent of Disk Defragment for Solid State Drives. Make sure the SSD you purchase supports this feature otherwise you will loose performance indefinitely. Boots windows 7 under 30 seconds and rates at 7.4 in Windows Experience Index.

Cons: Price. But I got this OEM for $165.00 with shipping no tax from some auction site ;o) Still though price.
