Why wait when you can get more accomplished with a solid state drive by Intel?
Say goodbye to long load times and cold system boots. This Intel SSD makes sure you get where you need to go fast. Since there are no moving parts, there's no need to wait for platters to spin and less worry that a mechanical piece will fail. Average sequential read speeds are 250MB/s and write speeds are 70MB/s. You won't have time to leave your desk next time you have to move over a large file. With 80GBs of space, you'll have plenty of room to store your important programs for the fastest performance you'll ever experience.
Pros: After installing these all week a work. I just had to buy one for myself. If you have a high end computer like myself, it is not complete until you have a fast SSD. The retail version comes with a mounting bracket. This one comes with a free CoolerMaster Scout case. Free bracket or CoolerMaster Scout? Which one is the better deal?
Cons: If you want High Performance. You have to pay a high premium. Don't bother with the WD Raptors or SAS drives. Once my wife finds out that I bought a hard drive for $300 I will be sleeping on the couch for a month.
Other Thoughts: You can have an i7 rig with 2 GTX 285 or an ATI 5870 but you're computer won't be a high end machine until you have a SSD. The hard drive is the biggest bottleneck so upgrade that first and you will see very promising results. Today, CPUs are fast, RAM is fast, GPUs are fast. Now with the evolution of SSDs, hard drives are fast.
Yes you can argue that 3 or 4 Raptor drives in RAID-0 will give you similar performance and a much bigger size, but will have a higher failure rate and have to go through the hassle of installing raid drivers. Imaging off RAID is a pain as well. SAS drives are even more expensive than this drive and aren't as fast.

I like it =D

Pros: Fast - I think my perspective might be a bit exaggerated because I'm coming from a ~5 year old computer, but this with an i5 has changed the way I do things. I love how restarting my system is not an annoyance any more. It shuts down and boots back up very fast, and as soon as the desktop appears, you can click on a program and it starts up. None of that waiting at the desktop for everything to "really" finish loading.
Small - My case (antec mini 80) can either mount an HD rack OR a front intake fan. I was able to put my storage mechanical HD in the one available 5.25" slots (with an adapter) and just have this sitting on the bottom of the mobo compartment shelf. This allowed me to mount both 120mm intake fans, which is nice.
Cons: Expensive - 80gb. ~290 bucks. And to think I was trying to stick to a "budget" build.
Low capacity
As of right now, there's a firmware update issue. I got a drive with 02G9 firmware, and can't update to 02HA because some people reported issues and intel took it down. you need 02HA for windows 7 TRIM support, which is not possible 'til intel finishes another revision.
If you find an 02HA download, don't try it. watch the official intel site for a fixed release.
Other Thoughts: It comes with a sticker!
I'm disappointed by how many of my new components didn't come with stickers. Video card? Nope. Mobo? Nope. CPU? Nope. Storage device? Hells yeah!

TRIM
Reviewed By: DEEB0rider on 10/14/2009

Pros: Supports Trim
Cons: dont know
Other Thoughts: This is just to correct someone else's review. This drive DOES IN FACT support TRIM. The G1 drives do not, but this is a G2 drive (as noted by intels part number ending in G2C1) However, windows vista does not support TRIM, but Windows 7 will once it is released next week or sometime shortly after.

Pros: when i built my computer last year the only thing i didn't do was purchase a SSD drive for my system partition. this drive has completed my hopes for this rig. OS loads quickly, and Windows 7 automatically made all necessary changes to the way in which it operates.
Cons: I always need more drive space.
Other Thoughts: Good drive great buy
