4 out of 5 eggsIntel SSD 120GB

Pros: Reliable
Easy Installation

Cons: 120GB fills up quick

Other Thoughts: I was worried about some bad press I saw for SSD's with reliability issues. This drive has worked from day 1. $$ per MB is high compared to traditional hard disks but the performance of an SSD is worth the price.

5 out of 5 eggsget an SSD

Pros: upgraded firmware 2 times with no loss of data
big performance gain over any non SSD drive
the best manufacturer of SSD drives for :speed, quality, longevity, you dont see too many ratings of 1 here , see how many 1 star ratings the competition has.
250-349 mb/sec. seq. read / 200mb/sec. seq write on crystal mark

Cons: price /GB is high
once you use an SSD for a C: drive you will never be able to go back to the old spinning platter type , this will cost you money in the long run
sometimes this drive gives me 345 read rates and other times as low as 250 on crystalmark , I cannot figure out what is causing this inconsistancy.

Other Thoughts: a 120 GB SSD leaves you with about 80 gb of room for you to install games or save your video editing, or what ever. with A 64 GB SSD you will only have about 24 gb usable. so going from a 64 to a 120 actually gives you over 3 times the fast storage space.
disable your pagefile and turn off your hibernate function or they will each eat up large portions of your precious SSD space. if you have 8gb ram in your system, hybernate will eat 8gb of your SSD and the same with pagefile.

3 out of 5 eggsIntel ssd

Pros: Fast when it works.

Cons: I waited to post on this ssd not knowing if it would last or not. It lasted 1 year! Dead!! For the price I paid, it should of lasted way longer.

Other Thoughts: Disapointed with intel

1 out of 5 eggsdead after 10 months

Pros: soundless, very fast

Cons: dead as a brick after only 10 months -- I shut down my system with the Windows shut down button, and 2 hours later tried to reboot, only to have the SSD completely dead. I swapped SATA and power cables, and tried to have the drive recognized in a different computer, all to no avail. I have my whole house surge protected, and have a high-end UPS/surge protector into which this computer was plugged.

Other Thoughts: Forget about the 1.5 million hours mean time to failure. There's a good article on Tom's Hardware about the real-world failure rate of the SSDs, and it's probably worse than mechanical hard drives. I had no idea this would be the case when I installed this Intel 510, which I specifically bought because of its reputation as being the most reliable of the SSDs out there at the time. I've replaced it now with a Samsung 830 and I'm crossing my fingers.

5 out of 5 eggsPleased

Pros: Drive has run fantastic for the last year, am about to pick up a new bigger one, and I am definately sticking with INTEL.

Cons: Gave up trying to use migration software with laptop. And did a fresh Install instead. Followed directions to a T, and later searched forumns for help, laptop wouldnt even recognise the drive until I had it partitioned, this may be a laptop issue, but i've seen other complaints on forumns about it.

5 out of 5 eggsSOOO FASSST

Pros: Fast Boot Time, Easy to configure. A little pricier than other SSD's but I simply believe reliability of Intel worth it. No one ever adds up what data is worth till it is lost.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: No matter how reliable, always get external drive for back up.

5 out of 5 eggsSSD

Pros: First - if you don't have an SSD for your OS drive you are missing out big time. Second - this drive has been great. Been running 3 months with zero issues.

Scores a 7.8 out of 7.9 on the "Windows Experience Index".

Do yourself a favor and get an SSD (any!), and if you are sifting through comments here...pull the trigger!

Cons: It's only 120GB, but eh its plenty for an OS just have a "data" drive as well.

5 out of 5 eggsFast and reliable

Pros: Fast and reliable. No problems at all. Just what you expect. We bought 2 and they've been wonderful under moderate to heavy use.

Cons: getting out of date, there's better ones out there now for the price!
