Intel Solid-State Drives (Intel SSDs) just got better. The next generation Intel SSD 320 Series offers built-in data protection features, better performance, larger capacities and more value for your money. Built with 25 nanometer (nm) compute-quality Intel NAND Flash Memory, the Intel SSD 320 Series accelerates PC performance where it matters most.

With random read performance up to 38,000 Input/Output Operations per Second (IOPS) and sequential read performance of up to 270 megabytes per second (MB/s), your PC will blaze through the most demanding applications and will handle intense multi-tasking needs. Couple that performance with random writes up to 10,000 IOPS to unleash your system.

  • newegg World-Class reliability – better by design The Intel SSD 320 Series features new industry leading, compute-quality Intel 25nm NAND Flash memory manufacturing processes and an advanced architecture that employs 10 parallel NAND flash channels equipped with multi-level cell NAND flash memory. With powerful Native Command Queuing that enables up to 32 concurrent operations, the Intel SSD 320 Series delivers outstanding IOPS and throughput performance that drastically outperform traditional hard disk drives. The Intel SSD 320 Series also features low write amplification and a unique wear-leveling design for higher reliability; meaning Intel SSDs not only perform better, they last longer.
  • newegg Superior built-in data protection features The Intel SSD 320 Series contains built-in features to protect your data from external threats and internal system snags. Pre-configured Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) 128-bit encryption capabilities give you peace of mind that your personal data is secured by advanced encryption technologies in the event of theft or loss of your computer. Additionally, two new data protection features guard your data from an unexpected system power loss or a faulty NAND array.
  • newegg Intel SSD Toolbox with Intel SSD Optimizer The Intel Solid-State Toolbox with Intel Solid-State Drive Optimizer provides a powerful set of management, information, and diagnostic tools to maintain the health of your Intel SSD and optimize performance to "fresh-out-of-the-box" levels. 5 out of 5 eggsIntel quality, SSD speed

Pros: I haven't owned any other SSDs so I cannot compare apples to apples, but this blows my VelociRaptor HDD out of the water. ~25 second boot, a bit slower than I hoped but once it's booted everything loads instantly. Games, Web Browser, Videos, you name it. Intel's SSD toolkit is top notch too.

Cons: Wish I had bought a bigger SSD, if you are a gamer, it will fill up fast.

Other Thoughts: Bought on black friday for a $/GB.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: fast, quiet, cool works.
not too bad for the price

Cons: wish it were SATA 6.0 gb/s
some brands can offer similar space/speed for slightly less

Other Thoughts: got it with a MIR gift card to make the deal sweeter

5 out of 5 eggsINTEL ROSKS!!!!

Pros: Fast boot speed, Read, and overall conformance...18 secs

Cons: A bit Pricey. Thanks for the 70.00 rebate

Other Thoughts: Bear with the rebate process, it takes time but all rebates are all the same. Anytime you get money back for any company, it is never easy. 5 out of 5 eggsProblem-free installation and operation

Pros: Installation with the 3.5" expansion tray was easy. The drive was recognized and has worked flawlessly without the need for any firmware upgrades. My Linux Mint 12 installation has impressive startup and shutdown times. Just about every application is faster and more responsive.

Cons: At 80 GB, the drive's a bit small, especially as performance is said to degrade as the drive gets full. I have a 2 TB standard drive that I use for media storage, my /var partition, etc.

Other Thoughts: I snagged a $60 rebate, which brought the purchase price within reason. However, even with the rebate, SSDs still feel like a luxury. The performance gains do seem to warrant the outlay, though.

5 out of 5 eggsA+

Pros: This thing is spoiling me. My OS boots in under 10 seconds (including POSTing!) and I never wait long for anything to load. In contrast, at school I have to wait over three minutes to boot.

Cons: The drive bay adapter I got was missing screws, so I had to use the adapter that came with my case, but that's okay because the one from my case looks nicer.

Other Thoughts: I've never had a problem with this, and I'm definitely going to be recommending Intel SSDs in the future.

5 out of 5 eggsSo Far So Good

Pros: *FAST! (OS Boot in about 10 seconds)
*Comes with plenty of tools and accessories, including mounting slide and mini screw driver.

Cons: *BIOS didnt want to boot to the SSD without a firmware upgrade. Not a big deal at all

4 out of 5 eggsGood, but?

Pros: Fast, cut boot time in half and opens small applications practically instantly just after login.

Cons: I am not sure if it's the SSD, but it seems like it doesn't want to multi-task very well. While downloading and installing the D3 beta I noticed frequently my mouse pointer was shuttering and slowing down. I have my OS, Ventrilo, and Chrome installed on the SSD. However, this is a small drive so I am not too upset about that, I just hope its not a sign.

Other Thoughts: It did what I wanted it to do, load my OS quickly, I will attempt to put Office and some other applications on it, and hope that it doesn't slow down this drive.

I bought this at Best Buy, because I had some gift cards which made it cheaper than Newegg and despite Newegg being awesome it was faster to get home as well.

4 out of 5 eggsssd failure

Pros: Extremely fast, I had windows boot off of it. I could multi-task with no issues.

Cons: SSD burned out tonight only after less that 3 weeks, my other SATA HDD is already partitioned for storage, so now I'm stuck with no windows, and the Intel offices are closed due to holidays (did not know January 2nd is a national holiday)

5 out of 5 eggsSo far so good

Pros: 5-year warranty! :-) That makes sense because.... -->
Intel SSDs seem extremely stable and reliable.
Fast as expected of modern SSDs.
Got this for $1 per gigabyte after MIR, the lowest I have ever seen for such a reliable SSD. xD
A lot of accessories, a 3.5" to 2.5" bay adapter, rubberized carrying case, SATA to USB adapter for connecting to a laptop externally, it even came with a SCREW DRIVER, lol.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I've had a Crucial for my primary computer & got this for running Windows & programs on my 2ndary machine.

Despite the fact that Intel rates this drive's sequential write speed as lower than that of the modern hard driveand plus that the Crucial M4's sequential write is a lot faster, I do not feel the difference at all running the OS & programs off of them.

I went with this instead of Crucial this time because there was the rebate on this, and instead of unreliable OCZ with fast sequential write because sequential write is immaterial for those of us who run OS & programs on the SSD. Sequential matters for storage drives / large file transfers & backup, but not for the OS & program type of operations. It's the random read /write AKA IOPS that matters for OS / programs drives, which all decent SSDs have good enough numbers for that you can't feel differences between models.

As such, reliability is my at-most concern in choosing SSDs. It's living up to my expectations so far.
