Manufacturer Warranty

Parts
5 years limited
All Intel SSD 320 products sold in the OEM boxes have a five-year limited warranty term; however, the warranty includes a "Media Wearout" limitation. The Media Wearout limitation provides that the warranty shall expire when the usage of the drive has reached a predetermined usage limit established by Intel, which could result in a warranty term much shorter than five years for drives used in heavy-use, enterprise applications. The Media Wearout is determined by Intel's implementation of the SMART attribute "E9" Media Wearout indicator (as measured by and shown in the Intel SSD Toolbox, www.intel.com/go/ssdtoolbox). At any point during the warranty term, if the Media Wearout Indicator reads "1", as measured by the Intel SSD Toolbox, then the drive has reached its wear limit and the Limited Warranty at that point expires, regardless of how much time may have been remaining on the five-year term. This Media Wearout limitation is imposed due to the greater workload demands of enterprise/data center deployment on SSDs.

4 out of 5 eggsSSD

Pros: SSD are a must for any new computer. I love the speed that it gives me on start up.

Cons: I would look for a larger drive. 80GB seems like alot when you are starting out, bu it can fill very fast if you are not careful when installing programs.

5 out of 5 eggsIntel Reliability

Pros: Fast! Even after 2 years since its debut in 2011, its still a pretty fast SSD and much faster than any legacy HDDs. On top of that, its reliable and consistent. I've had this little SSD for about 2 years now and its been in my main rig and now in my laptop. It works day in and day out without a single glitch! Backed by Intel's warranty, its an awesome boot drive SSD.

Cons: Its getting small for me now, soon it will be time to upgrade to a much bigger SSD as the prices are dropping.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat HD upgrade

Pros: I wanted a faster boot up time from my 4 year old Maxtor 7200 rpm HD. So I went to my local computer dealer, they recomended this SSD for reliability and warranty. I've had this SSD for 10 mo. now. It has been firmware updated once and has been a complete WOW. Boot time went to abt. 10 seconds from about three minutes. I was told from all I read about SSD's not to fill them up more than abt. 50% to keep their speed up. That's what I'm doing, no more than my Windows 7 and some oftened used utilities. the rest go onto my other four year old HD. I instaled the toolkit and run the trim once a week after deleting stuff. So far so good. I expect to get well over five year of use from it (intel reliability and warranty). The price was a bit high but that's what you pay for new tech. and a reliable brand. Overall I'm well pleased with it. I would recomend it over cheaper brands, (I've read some horror stories abt. other SSD's). So that's it, fast and reliable so far.

Cons: I'd have liked to have payed a bit less, but I believe it is worth it.

5 out of 5 eggsSo Far - So Good

Pros: Works Great and has brought new life to a 5 + Year old HP notebook. My notebook had two 100GB hdds, so I swapped out both and installed this 80Gb SSD and added a 320 GB WD Black Scorpion. Both work great.

Cons: .

4 out of 5 eggsWorks great; died, but RMA via Intel works

Pros: Works great as a Win7 boot disk. Tested on a range of machines from desktops (from an old Pentium 4 to a Core i5) to laptops.

Cons: Died after about 3 months, after Newegg RMA expired; contacted Intel for an exchange; they shipped one out, no problems.

5 out of 5 eggsVery awesome hardware

Pros: This took SSD's from awesome performance enhancement to Stable wickedness.
win 7 (without bloatware, apps, games (main ones) and space to spare.
Is turning out to be everything I wanted from an SSD.

Cons: Only con is that I wish i would've purchased this first! which has nothing to do with this drive

Other Thoughts: I went with another brand first that was much cheaper, and had double and triple to stats for read/write speeds. And in turn I learned the hard way, that it didn't equal stability. My other ssd crashed after 3 days of owning it.

If you want to save those 3 days of installing your stuff again only to find, you'll have to do it AGAIN, then just buy this intel 320 series. they are killer! and i got a great deal on a bidding site.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: SSD high speed that boosts up my computer's performance significantly, however before buying it u should always check the motherboard for capability of "RAID" . My Intel chip H61 doesnt support RAID, I have to reinstall window in the SSD.

Cons: little bit expensive compared to other brands

3 out of 5 eggsI might have gotten the bad one of the pack

Pros: Fast

Cons: constant freezing, random lockups, BSOD a couple of times

Other Thoughts: I bought this drive after reading the reviews online & Newegg, since it is an Intel I had high hopes. Unfortunately since day one I was having random freezing and it would last about a full minute before the computer got responsive. After about six months the freezing got more frequent, got BSOD, and now the computer locks up all together and I have to manually shut down the system and back on. Troubleshooting: Latest SSD firmware installed. I reinstalled the OS, replaced the system memory with another brand, removed all peripherals, (including other drives), still has the same problem. I removed the SSD, installed the OS on a regular HDD and the computer didn't lockup. Put back the SSD with another fresh OS install and the freezing problem reoccurred. Put SSD drive on another computer and froze that computer also. The last straw was when it locked up in the middle of a WOW raid. Going to run diagnostics and call Intel with the error code to get it repaired or replaced.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat drive

Pros: fast, reliable, reasonable price, easy installation

Cons: none so far after 11 months of heavy use

Other Thoughts: This is my first SSD and I am very happy with it. Installation was simple and it has been rock solid reliable for almost a year now. The speed improvement over the EIDE drive it replaced is striking, especially watching windows come up and the icons all popping up in the blink of an eye instead of popping up one at a time.
