Intel Solid-State Drives (Intel SSDs) just got better. The next generation Intel SSD 320 Series offers built-in data protection features, better performance, larger capacities and more value for your money. Built with 25 nanometer (nm) compute-quality Intel NAND Flash Memory, the Intel SSD 320 Series accelerates PC performance where it matters most.

With random read performance up to 39,500 Input/Output Operations per Second (IOPS) and sequential read performance of up to 270 megabytes per second (MB/s), your PC will blaze through the most demanding applications and will handle intense multi-tasking needs. Couple that performance with random writes up to 23,000 IOPS and sequential writes up to 205MB/s to unleash your system.

  • newegg World-Class reliability – better by design The Intel SSD 320 Series features new industry leading, compute-quality Intel 25nm NAND Flash memory manufacturing processes and an advanced architecture that employs 10 parallel NAND flash channels equipped with multi-level cell NAND flash memory. With powerful Native Command Queuing that enables up to 32 concurrent operations, the Intel SSD 320 Series delivers outstanding IOPS and throughput performance that drastically outperform traditional hard disk drives. The Intel SSD 320 Series also features low write amplification and a unique wear-leveling design for higher reliability; meaning Intel SSDs not only perform better, they last longer.

5 out of 5 eggsBest Upgrade I've Ever Done!

Pros: Super Fast! I mean...SUPER FAST! I can boot my system in about 30 - 60 seconds or less - and once I log into windows, I can open Outlook or another program within 5-10 seconds - no joke! Without a doubt this has to be the best upgrade I've ever made to my system, bar none!

Plus, it was SUPER EASY to upgrade. I've built lots of computers, and normally upgrading/replacing a hard drive is a big headache. With the utilities that came with this SSD, it was all automatic and FAST! I was speechless; made me feel a bit useless since there was nothing to troubleshoot or fix! What a welcome change! Get this drive; you'll be glad you did!

Cons: Expensive, and not as large a capacity as I'd like. But I knew that going in.

Other Thoughts: I bought this late last year to upgrade one of two of my main systems; I was hoping by now the price would have dropped but it hasn't! Still, it's a GREAT DEAL if you like speed like I do!

3 out of 5 eggsNot what I had hoped for

Pros: Compared to hard drives, it is quite fast. Capacity is good.

Cons: Failed after three months and Intel's RMA process is painful at best. You can choose to pay to ship the drive and wait two weeks or pay $25 for cross shipping. Either way, you pay to get the drive fixed.

Other Thoughts: I bought this unit based on Intel's reputation for reliability. That was a mistake with firmware problems causing drives to randomly die. I should have gone with a higher performing alternative since the main goal, reliability, was a bust.

4 out of 5 eggsFast Drive

Pros: Great drive, fast, using as primary drive on a hp dv7 laptop windows 7 64bit. loads os quick

Cons: Has 8mb brick crash known issue(you lose all data and i believe you need to send it to intel to fix it)

Other Thoughts: Needed to replace my default drive cause it died, it was 500gb 7200rpm decided to try out intel 320 300gb and im not disappointed this drive is very fast, loads os and programs quick, use this laptop every day for school, but i took an egg off because of the known 8mb bug intel is workin on a fix but there first firmware update work for some people but not for others, if you have or want this drive DO NOT put the computer to sleep or hibernate, as people system has crash doing this... good solid drive overall

1 out of 5 eggsDead in less than 7 months

Pros: Fast. Decent storage space at 300GB.

Cons: Expensive. Dead in less than 7 months.

Other Thoughts: I have a paperweight that's amlost $$$$$$. It's crazy that Intel makes you pay for cross shipping for a drive so expensive. I would maybe understand if the drive died in the last month of its warranty, but come one Intel! Of course, I can do the standard replacement and not pay the $25, but I would be without a drive for almost 2 weeks. I'll start searching for a SSD brand that has better warranty than Intel.

4 out of 5 eggsExcelent Drive.

Pros: Fast, wonderfully fast. Very easy to setup on any system. Very durable. Windows 7x64 loads faster than my computer POST's. Awsome!!!

Cons: Occasionally the SSD "derps" and the entire system freezes for about 30s-1m but then after that it runs fine. Looked for a solution to this problem but found no real answer on Intel's site. Also the inability to install OS directly to the drive is dissapointing but not enough to make me rage and start throwing things.

Other Thoughts: I really wish that i can install the os directly to the drive and not use the data migration software. And after some hours of reasearch, discoverd that what causes the drive to "Derp" is a memory controler issue and seing how i have a 780i board I am tossed on that matter because there is no true way to configure the board so that it can keep up with the SSD.

I gave a 4 egg rating because of the amount of research I had to go though just to find out what was causing the freezing instead of getting an answer fron Intel directly.

5 out of 5 eggsNice SSD

Pros: I like the extra stuff that comes with this drive. I needed the internal drive adapter to put in my DIY server.

Works perfectly with XenServer 5.6 SP2. VMs load extremely fast.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Just ordered an Intel 40GB drive to use as the boot drive for my XenServer host. XenServer only needs a 16GB boot drive.

I also have two single purpose XenServer hosts for writing my tech articles and books. Both have the Intel 40GB SSD.

5 out of 5 eggsSSDiamus maximus FTWicus

Pros: Super fast Win 7 install, HD Tuner shows reads of 265MB/s so it's spot on. It was literally plug and play, I had to do no firmware updates. from installing windows to having all my games and programs installed took 2.5 Hrs :)

Cons: Price. but this has about the best $ per GB for an SSD so no Con really. Will update review after I've had it a while longer

Other Thoughts: An I7 @ 4.0Ghz, SLI EVGA GTX 580 SC, 6GB Corsair dominator 1600Mhz and this SSD= Heaven (<>..<>)

5 out of 5 eggsVery fast, solid

Pros: Very fast - Windows 7 boots in 30 seconds on a laptop.
Very reliable
Low power

Cons: Expensive (but worth it)

Other Thoughts: Went to this drive after experiencing terrible crashing problems on a Crucial SSD. This Intel drive shows none of those problems. If there is any price premium for this drive over the Crucial drive don't hesitate to spend it. Also this drive seems to be faster.

Now I can finally get some work done!

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: This is my 6th intel drive and it replaced a 32 gig extreme SSD that I was using for a Windows 7 x64 boot drive. It's nice not to have to put the swap file and documents directory on another drive. It also supports TRIM which the original 50 nm drives did not. Make sure you are running the latest Intel RST drivers. Now at Warranty just got bumped to 5 years retroactive in the 320 series by Intel this past week. Best in the business.

Cons: Not the fastest sequential drive, but still very fast in random I/O.

Other Thoughts: You can knock Intel for not have the fastest benchmarks, but this drive is fast and reliabile. I had another manufacturer drive named Vertex that I was using for a HTPC boot drive. It just started corrupting data one day with no warning. No amount of firmware updates (there were many) could fix it. The manufacturer stood behind it, but having to RMA a little used drive less than 1 year old was not confidence inspiring. Neither was reading forums where others were having the same premature failure issues. This is my 6th Intel SSD across all series and capacities and not one issue! Only had to update the firmware on the original 50 nm Extreme SSD once, which was non-destructive.
