Intel Solid-State Drives (Intel SSDs) just got better. The next generation Intel SSD 320 Series offers built-in data protection features, better performance, larger capacities and more value for your money. Built with 25 nanometer (nm) compute-quality Intel NAND Flash Memory, the Intel SSD 320 Series accelerates PC performance where it matters most.

With random read performance up to 39,500 Input/Output Operations per Second (IOPS) and sequential read performance of up to 270 megabytes per second (MB/s), your PC will blaze through the most demanding applications and will handle intense multi-tasking needs. Couple that performance with random writes up to 23,000 IOPS and sequential writes up to 205MB/s to unleash your system.

  • newegg World-Class reliability – better by design The Intel SSD 320 Series features new industry leading, compute-quality Intel 25nm NAND Flash memory manufacturing processes and an advanced architecture that employs 10 parallel NAND flash channels equipped with multi-level cell NAND flash memory. With powerful Native Command Queuing that enables up to 32 concurrent operations, the Intel SSD 320 Series delivers outstanding IOPS and throughput performance that drastically outperform traditional hard disk drives. The Intel SSD 320 Series also features low write amplification and a unique wear-leveling design for higher reliability; meaning Intel SSDs not only perform better, they last longer.
  • newegg Superior built-in data protection features The Intel SSD 320 Series contains built-in features to protect your data from external threats and internal system snags. Pre-configured Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) 128-bit encryption capabilities give you peace of mind that your personal data is secured by advanced encryption technologies in the event of theft or loss of your computer. Additionally, two new data protection features guard your data from an unexpected system power loss or a faulty NAND array.
  • newegg Intel SSD Toolbox with Intel SSD Optimizer The Intel Solid-State Toolbox with Intel Solid-State Drive Optimizer provides a powerful set of management, information, and diagnostic tools to maintain the health of your Intel SSD and optimize performance to "fresh-out-of-the-box" levels. 5 out of 5 eggs320 Seris, Good Drive

Pros: I have 4 of this model in multiple computers and sizes. 120Gb, 160Gb and 300Gb.

Never had a problem. i do keep the firmware updated as the original firmware had a problem. I started buying in 2011 when Intel extended the warranty period to 5 years from the original 3 year period.

I have to assume that those with problems had the original firmware and never updated it as sudden death was a problem with the original firmware.

Cons: Can't really think of any.

Other Thoughts: After buying the first one I could not wait to switch all the computers to a SSD boot drive.

1 out of 5 eggsDrive Fails Constantly

Pros: Drastic speed improvements when loading programs. Computer is overall much more responsive.

Cons: We purchased three of these for work. I proposed that the high price would be offset by greater productivity. My boss is currently on his third drive since they constantly brick. My other co-workers just died today after about a month of use. Either we are just extremely unlucky or this drive has a fantastic failure rate.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks Great

Pros: Good price for a larger capacity SSD. This is my first SSD, so I have nothing to compare it to other than the dozen or so 7200 RPM hard drives I have owned. The silent fast Windows 7 boots are great. No problems after 6 months of use.

Cons: None, other than the high price of SSDs still.

5 out of 5 eggsIncredible performance

Pros: Speed. I have an Asus notebook from early 2008 that has a new lease on life after this upgrade. I don't have to wait for my notebook anymore.

Cons: I'd say price compared to HDD, but taking the warranty into account, this is the cheapest drive per GB for an SSD.

Other Thoughts: Dollar for dollar, the five-year warranty wipes the floor with the competition. These things die unexpectedly, so I have my backups.

1 out of 5 eggsDo not buy - big problems

Pros: None really.

Cons: It died in 8 days. There used to be a LOT of comments about this drives problems on newegg. There were also responses from the manufacturer. Those have all disappeared. This drive is unstable and will fail without notice.

Other Thoughts: Avoid at all costs. I'm dealing with the intel support process now. Not recommended.

5 out of 5 eggsIntel - Second to none!

Pros: Five year warranty, need I say more. I would like to see the other manufacturers compete with this. Easy to setup with Acronis Data transfer software. Cloning took less than 20 minutes total. Win Experience score went from a 5.9 to 7.6 in the harddrive category.

Cons: I had to reactivate Windows 7. I would say price, but all good technology costs big dollars!

Other Thoughts: If you don't want to spend money on the latest Intel processor, then this is a reasonable upgrade for speed!
