Intel Solid-State Drives (Intel SSDs) just got better. The next generation Intel SSD 320 Series offers built-in data protection features, better performance, larger capacities and more value for your money. Built with 25 nanometer (nm) compute-quality Intel NAND Flash Memory, the Intel SSD 320 Series accelerates PC performance where it matters most.
With random read performance up to 39,500 Input/Output Operations per Second (IOPS) and sequential read performance of up to 270 megabytes per second (MB/s), your PC will blaze through the most demanding applications and will handle intense multi-tasking needs. Couple that performance with random writes up to 23,000 IOPS and sequential writes up to 220MB/s to unleash your system.
Pros: Space available is incredible. Currently largest SSD on market excluding revo drives. Read and Write Speeds are amazing. Put in my 15 inch Macbook pro and noticed the differences immediately. 5 Year warranty is pretty sweet too since SSDs fail for sure about 2-3 after installed so this pretty much ensures you will get another one.
Cons: price. =(

Happy with this device
Pros: Capacity - this is what has been keeping me away from SSDs. I don't really understand why people buy small 40GB SSDs just big enough to get their OS onto it. I don't reboot often enough to get any benefit from that - I need enough space to put applications on there and really feel the difference. Though it's not the fastest SSD on the market, it's faster than any other drive I can get for my laptop at this capacity. Works great in Mac (Lion), Windows (7 64-bit), and Linux (Ubuntu 11.04 64-bit).
Cons: Price, of course. I'm still not convinced that the focus should be on faster and faster SSDs. I think the focus now should be on price/capacity. <$1/GB is a must and I feel <$0.25 is a reasonable target in the near future.
Other Thoughts: Running this in a 17" i7 MBP and it's flawless. I just updated the firmware to address the 8MB bug (I never saw it, but didn't want to risk it either.) I haven't had any issues from that firmware update yet.
