The perfect blend of cutting edge performance, Intel quality, and value.

Ideal for price-conscious enthusiasts looking to upgrade a desktop or notebook PC, the Intel® SSD 330 Series brings SATA 6Gb/s transfer rates to the Intel® Solid-State Drive 300 Family. Offered in the most popular capacities (60GB, 120GB and 180GB), the Intel® SSD 330 Series boosts overall system performance and responsiveness for a broad range of applications.

Technology and Performance

The SATA 6Gb/s interface doubles the data transfer rate from its SATA 3Gb/s predecessor, powering the Intel® SSD 330 Series to blazing fast sequential reads up to 500MB/s to handle your most demanding applications with ease. The end result: a vastly more responsive PC with quick operating system (OS) boot and application load times, significantly out-performing a typical consumer hard disk drive (HDD).

5 out of 5 eggsStill working after 18 months

Pros: Never had a problem with it.

Cons: size is not large enough. Beware of windows 7 driver bloating.

Other Thoughts: Beware that when SSD's die they do so completely and without warning, so make sure you are always backing up and make an image too if you can.

I don't like that reviews online are biased towards negative. I think it's help to know that many people receive working products.

5 out of 5 eggsFast Drive, Great Sale

Pros: This SSD is great, large and cheaper than most other SSDs. I was fortunate to get it on sale for $139.99. Load time for programs and start-up times have decreased by at least half.

Cons: Not a con for the SSD itself, but I used my old HD as a backup drive and file storage drive, since this SSD is large enough for my entire OS and programs. At first, windows automatically made it so that the HD would go to sleep when not used (stopped spinning). Whenever I tried to access a file from that drive, not only did I have to wait for the HD to spin up to read the file, it also froze my computer for those 1-2 seconds. Eventually I just had windows keep it consistently running which solved the problem.

Other Thoughts: Also, make sure to set up windows to no do disk defrags, or make a search library. They are not necessary with this drive, and reduce precious HD space.

5 out of 5 eggsVery Solid Dives

Pros: Running in Raid 0 configuration. ATO indicates over 1000 MB/Sec read and 900 MB/Sec write. Can't beat those speeds unless running PCI Express SSD.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Cost is a little high but worth the speed. No hang problems - can't see why some are indicating they are having issues. If they do some research before purchasing it would clear a lot of there issues up. Have fun with these and get two and run them in Raid 0.

5 out of 5 eggsNo problems

Pros: Fast, Stable.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Intel website had a free tool to clone my old 320GB drive onto the 240Gb drive. I later did a clean install of Windows 8 64bit, which also probably got rid of a lot junk.

Do I really need a SSD, maybe not.
For a work laptop Intel was a fast / safe option, especially if your laptop supports 2 drives.

5 out of 5 eggsits an SSD with 240GB

Pros: -obviously very fast
-fits all your data plus more, only had to start uninstalling games after 1/2 a year
-my brother and I got same setups except I went with an SSD and mine is soo much faster in daily tasks

Cons: at regular pricing may be better idea to get an HDD instead. I got it for $140

Other Thoughts: if your going to use an SSD make sure you turn off defragmenting and configure it right
only had it for about a year but I'm pretty sure it will last forever as SSDs are supposed to last much longer than HDD

4 out of 5 eggsFast SSD

Pros: Installation in my 2009 MacBook Pro went smoothly, though you'll need a Torx T6 screwdriver for that. Everything feels much faster compared to the original hard drive, apps that used to take 5 seconds to open now start in under a second.

Cons: I can only get a 1.5 Gbps link speed instead of the full 3 Gbps, but that may be due to my computer and not a fault of this drive

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Super fast upgrade from my 7200rpm drive. Top notch Intel software.

Cons: Price? Got a good sale price but still...

Other Thoughts: Intel software made it really easy to clone my old drive and replace with this one. Also the Intel SSD monitoring software lets me know estimated remaining lifespan of the drive and perform routinte maintenance.
