5 out of 5 eggsIntel 730 Series 2.5" 240GB SATA 6Gb/s MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) SSDSC2BP240G4R5

This review is from: Intel 730 Series 2.5" 240GB SATA 6Gb/s MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) SSDSC2BP240G4R5

Pros: My five year old computer was transformed into a speed demon especially while running Dragon voice recognition.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Data migration was an issue with Intuit programs but that is a Quick Books issue not an Intel issue

5 out of 5 eggsGreat drive

This review is from: Intel 730 Series 2.5" 240GB SATA 6Gb/s MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) SSDSC2BP240G4R5

Pros: Fast, reliable

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: I did not pay nearly what the price is now for this drive as I got it on sale. SSD's are one of the greatest improvements you can make to a personal computer. They make even older and slower computers a lot quicker to execute commands and startup/shutdown. Would not own a computer from now on without an SSD as the main OS drive.

5 out of 5 eggsFast

This review is from: Intel 730 Series 2.5" 240GB SATA 6Gb/s MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) SSDSC2BP240G4R5

Pros: Fast, I love the Intel drives. They just work and work well.

Cons: More now than it was last year at this time, otherwise I'd get a second for Raid 0.

5 out of 5 eggsFirst SSD was a huge success!

This review is from: Intel 730 Series 2.5" 240GB SATA 6Gb/s MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) SSDSC2BP240G4R5

Pros: All pros in my book, lightning fast. Sleek design and feels really well made.

Cons: If I really had to dig to find something wrong, it would be that there is no mounting hardware that comes with it (Not really a huge deal, just would add to my screw collection.). Also, the SATA cable is kind of cheaply made (but I'm sure most have there own preferred cables). It's awesome regardless.

Other Thoughts: Just buy this SSD!

5 out of 5 eggsRun perfectly

This review is from: Intel 730 Series 2.5" 240GB SATA 6Gb/s MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) SSDSC2BP240G4R5

Pros: Fast, and so far very reliable. I purchased two of these for their noted reliability and lengthy warranty.

Cons: None that outwardly strike me. I could have done without the skull graphic, but in some company it's actually a great conversation starter about the machine in general. Meh.

Other Thoughts: I put them into RAID 0. The speed is incredible and I'm not sure I would have felt as safe putting many other SSDs into RAID 0. Been working absolutely flawlessly for almost a year now. Could not be happier.

5 out of 5 eggsIntel 730 SSD 240 GB

This review is from: Intel 730 Series 2.5" 240GB SATA 6Gb/s MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) SSDSC2BP240G4R5

Pros: This was a very worthwhile investment in my opinion. I got the 240 GB capacity drive on sale for $119.99 US which is a steal considering the retail price of the drive.

Anyway, the drive is very reliable and has been through sudden losses of power and intensive loads and has handled both with consistency and performance that you can only get from Intel.

The speed was very good. I was expecting decreased write speeds that are usually provided with the lower capacity drive but when I tested the drive in a synthetic benchmark the sequential read was at the advertised speed and the sequential write was somewhere around 430 MB/s, which surprised me and excited me at the same time.

In slightly uncoordinated real life tests, I have found that the drive performs very well. When booting Windows 7 Ultimate 64 Bit, it takes. an average of 5 seconds to get to the login screen and to get to the desktop and be able to use software it takes around 8. This is a huge improvement from my old build which took around 45 seconds to boot and another two minutes to be able to open any software.

This drive is also useful for recording with various programs. It is the drive that I write to when I have my games on a separate drive, and the quality of the footage that I get is stunning.

When I am not recording to this drive, I am playing games stored on it and they perform noticeably better than when stored on my WD Blue drive.

The body of this drive is a beauty. It looks sophisticated and the skull design makes it fit in well with a gaming build.

Cons: This is a thing for the Corsair Obsidian 750D, which is that when using the included 2.5" drive mount, the skull decal is upside down. This can be remedied by mounting the drive elsewhere, but it is annoying if you don't want to put any extra effort in.

4 out of 5 eggsWonderful SSDs

This review is from: Intel 730 Series 2.5" 240GB SATA 6Gb/s MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) SSDSC2BP240G4R5

Pros: Great performance and easy to setup. Over all have improved the performance of my computer 2-3 times better than previous SSD. Of curse that could be that I have them configured in a RAID0.

Cons: Software included is a little off. Unable to detect the drives if configured in a RAID configuration even though the OS could see the actual hardware.

5 out of 5 eggsBest investment in my PC.

This review is from: Intel 730 Series 2.5" 240GB SATA 6Gb/s MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) SSDSC2BP240G4R5

Pros: By far the best investment in my PC. This thing reads data at an astonishing speed. Windows 7 boots up before the animation can finish. from the time i press the power button on the case to the time i am opening programs is right around 23 seconds. Upgrading from a 7500 rpm segate to this was like night and day.

Cons: None. Period.

Other Thoughts: The price is high for the amount of storage you get, but the payoff comes from the speed which is outstanding. 100% recommend getting this for any PC gaming or not.
