1 out of 5 eggsDied in 13 months.

This review is from: Intel 730 Series 2.5" 480GB SATA 6Gb/s MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) SSDSC2BP480G4R5

Pros: Looks cool, which is silly for something you don't really see unless you have a clear case, but appreciated nonetheless. It's fast, efficient, and everything you'd want from a SSD.

Cons: Nothing really as far as I've noticed.

Update: Died 13 months after purchase. Out of warranty. Not happy, as one can imagine.

Other Thoughts: I got it on sale for quite cheap, so I'm very happy with my purchase.

Update: Since it died, I'm now less happy, but I'm not as upset with the purchase as I could have been since it was bought on sale.

5 out of 5 eggsGood SSD, but way overpriced at $500

This review is from: Intel 730 Series 2.5" 480GB SATA 6Gb/s MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) SSDSC2BP480G4R5

Pros: I have this setup with a Gigabyte Z68X-UD3H-B3 / i7 2600, and it works very well. I was going to buy another, but with the price of it skyrocketing to $499, I bought 3 512GB Samsung EVO 850's instead (got them from newegg at $134 each.) The Intel 730 480 SSD is great deal priced at $200, but at $500, I'd rather have 3 EVO's with 3 times the storage space.

Cons: $500 Price!

5 out of 5 eggsPerfect Desktop OS Drive

This review is from: Intel 730 Series 2.5" 480GB SATA 6Gb/s MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) SSDSC2BP480G4R5

Pros: This drive is fast. I meant the PC boot time is roughly 10-12 seconds from the time you push the power button to the time Windows is ready for use. Never go back to platter disk as an OS drive. For people that complain about this drive consuming too much power in a laptop, the skull logo means "dangerously fast" and speed requires power so it's ideal for desktop only.

Cons: No CON's

Other Thoughts: I already had a smaller Intel 530 240G SSD as an OS drive for my newest desktop system which I recently built for my wife to use for working from home but when Newegg had it at $199, I could not pass it up.
Here are my new rig specs: Antec Lanboy mid-tower, Gigabyte Z97X Gaming G1, Intel i7-4790k CPU, Corsair H100i GTX water cooler, Seasonic X750 PS Gold Certified, Gskills 16G-2133MHz RAM, EVGA GeForce GTX 970 4GB graphic card, (2) WD 600G Raptors for storage, Intel 730 480G SSD as OS drive and (2) HP Pavilion 27xw 27" monitors.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat SSD!

This review is from: Intel 730 Series 2.5" 480GB SATA 6Gb/s MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) SSDSC2BP480G4R5

Pros: -Easy setup and formatting
-Windows easily installs
-Greatly increases overall PC speed
-Intel SSD tools are easy to use
-Customer support for this product was good

Cons: -A bit pricey (When I bought it)

Other Thoughts: -If you can get this on sale do it. I got this before the 750 series came out and the 730 series cost more. I did however buy this during a sale and saved a good amount. Overall this is a great SSD!

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent SSD

This review is from: Intel 730 Series 2.5" 480GB SATA 6Gb/s MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) SSDSC2BP480G4R5

Pros: Very fast, Stable, good warranty and reliable.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Can be pricy. Have had this drive for almost 1 year and has performed flawlessly. It can be a bit pricy but found it on sale for 209.00, wish I bought two of them at the time.
Intel drives seem to be very well built and reliable as opposed to a other SSD's I have used.
Glad to see SSD prices coming down from where they were a year of two ago.

This review is from: Intel 730 Series 2.5" 480GB SATA 6Gb/s MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) SSDSC2BP480G4R5

Pros: Awesome for writes! Rated endurance is great. Have not had to reimage it yet as on a number of drives from other makes and one earlier Intel model

Cons: power usage is higher than some competitors - but I have it in desktop. slight premium over regular SSDs

Other Thoughts: worth it so far, no worries
