1 out of 5 eggsDO NOT BUY THIS SSD!!!

This review is from: Intel 730 Series SSDSC2BP480G4R5 2.5" 480GB SATA 6Gb/s MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD)

Pros: * Intel is known for its reliability, if this drive actually booted at all

Cons: * Absolutely horrible data migration software. I've spent hours trying to get it to recognize the Intel SSD as such, but unfortunately it only works if it recognizes the drive it was designed to clone. Most third-party USB to SATA adapters apparently don't work with it.

* Absolutely horrible tech support. They will pass you around and tell you to download third-party migration software to fix it. I even had an Intel tech remote in to clone it for me, was assured it would boot up, swapped hard drives in my laptop, and it didn't boot. I had to spend another half hour unscrewing everything to put my stock HD back in.

Other Thoughts: Save yourself the hassle and buy the Samsung EVO for cheaper like I had planned to do. Newegg had an amazing sale and I went with what I thought would be the more reliable option because it's my work laptop. Little did I know, they're only reliable if they work at all.

5 out of 5 eggsIntel 730 series SSD

This review is from: Intel 730 Series SSDSC2BP480G4R5 2.5" 480GB SATA 6Gb/s MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD)

Pros: Awesome deal on an SSD with good reliability ratings. I decided to try Intel SSD's for a second time after having a bad experience with an earlier model; and so far so good. Super easy install cloning my old SSD.

Cons: None yet.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat SSD

This review is from: Intel 730 Series SSDSC2BP480G4R5 2.5" 480GB SATA 6Gb/s MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD)

Pros: The 730 Intel was on sale for the same price or cheaper than Crucial or Samsung SSDs so I purchased it for my primary drive. I also like that they added capacitors to help prevent write errors during a sudden power loss. Goodbye mechanical hard drives.

Cons: None

5 out of 5 eggsWorking Great

This review is from: Intel 730 Series SSDSC2BP480G4R5 2.5" 480GB SATA 6Gb/s MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD)

Pros: Easy to install and it works super good. I am well pleased with this SSD so far.

Cons: The only con I have, if you want to call it a con, is that it didn't come with an adapter bracket to fit my desktop case. I had to buy a "two and a half inch" to "three and a half inch" adapter bracket so I could mount the SSD into my case. This isn't a con against the drive itself, but I would think Intel could at least throw in an adapter bracket, even if it was just a plastic one. But it really isn't a big deal, just a bit of an annoyance.

Other Thoughts: I like Intel SSD's because everything I have read about them says they are about the most reliable ones around. I have one other Intel SSD, although it is not this large of a capacity, and it is working just great. After careful consideration, I am thinking I should have purchased two of these drives when they were on sale.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat drive

This review is from: Intel 730 Series SSDSC2BP480G4R5 2.5" 480GB SATA 6Gb/s MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD)

Pros: Fast, responsive, no issues

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: My first experience with an SSD in a new build. Works like a charm, fast (startup time is amazing). With a 5 year warranty in tow, I'm expecting this drive to last a good long while.

5 out of 5 eggsSo far so good

This review is from: Intel 730 Series SSDSC2BP480G4R5 2.5" 480GB SATA 6Gb/s MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD)

Pros: Placed into USB 3.0 external drive to use as media storage until my new laptop arrives.
Works via USB 2.0

Cons: None really, haven't put it through its paces yet on a sata connection, but I plan on doing that shortly reads and writes via usb 2.0 just fine in an external enclosure.

4 out of 5 eggs

This review is from: Intel 730 Series SSDSC2BP480G4R5 2.5" 480GB SATA 6Gb/s MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD)

Pros: Regarding my former review on 12/3. I got the replacement. It is still not recognized by my computer. I suspect Inateck SATA to USB3 closure is not fit with the ssd. I use another SATA to USB 3 converter. It is recognized by my computer

Cons: It is not straight forward in using Intel Data Migration Software. Especially when asked to restart, but nothing happen after you restart the computer. It took me long time to change boot loader in order to make it work.
