2 out of 5 eggsSeems broken in less than a year

Pros: Price was fair, speed was fast when worked

Cons: It suddenly becomes read-only for some unknown reason.
I tried EVERY possible way to format/erase the drive, but all failed.
Since it has sensitive data on it, I'm not going to ship it back to manufacturer or other third party.
It still holds the data, but I cannot use it anymore.

Other Thoughts: Not sure whether it is just my bad luck.
My advise is never put important data on usb drives.
Backup your data. Backup your data. Backup your data.

1 out of 5 eggsTwo Failed

Pros: Good capacity for reasonable price

Worked well while they lasted

Cons: Both of these flash drives failed about a year after purchase. One cannot be read at all and can't be formatted. All data lost (but, fortunately, backed up). Second drive has only half its full capacity available. Files on the failed half not accessible but others are

Other Thoughts: I have purchased a number of Toshiba products over the years including many laptops, external drives, flash drives, DVD players and TVs. So far I've only had problems with the external drives and flash drives. Other products have been great.

1 out of 5 eggsToshiba 64GB USB 3.0

Pros: Worked well while it lasted.
Good speed for using as USB 2.0

Cons: Died after 8 months of use (drive is reported as write protected and cannot use drive or format it either). I used it as a DVR recording storage. Daily use about 2 hours. Sent to Toshiba for replacement. Received replacement drive in three days. Replacement drive, after one week use is unusable, now says it is write protected and cannot format. Will be sending this back to Toshiba for another replacement drive.

1 out of 5 eggsDead.

Pros: Cheap sale price.
64gb.

Cons: Died abruptly after some months of use. No longer recognizable by any other device, files can't be retrieved, drive can't be reformatted.

Meanwhile, the Kingston drive I've had for several years is still kicking.

Other Thoughts: Don't risk your files on this unreliable drive. The price/size ratio can be enticing on sale but it isn't worth losing your stuff (not to mention wasted funds on a dead drive).

1 out of 5 eggsBuyer Beware

Pros: Sale price was great.

Cons: Stops working and you have complete data loss.

Other Thoughts: I purchased my first stick during a sale period for about $20. I bought because of the price but also felt good because of the Toshiba name.

After about a month or two of use, it suddenly stopped working one day and had complete data loss...thankfully I had just made a hard copy of the data shortly before that incident.

I received an RMA from Toshiba and they replaced the stick with another. Approx. 3 - 4 weeks after I received the new stick and began using it, that one also failed with complete data loss. I had not backed up that data so it was a complete loss.

When I say complete data loss, I mean that the drive becomes unrecognizable to Windows or any type of recovery programs (I have a couple and none would see the drive) and Windows cannot even reformat the drive for continued use.

Needless to say, after this experience I will NOT be purchasing another Toshiba drive again and would prefer to stay with solid trusted names like PNY or Kingston.

1 out of 5 eggsDon't waste your money. There is a reason it has negative reviews

Pros: Price I thought was good. The drive appeared to work well at first. I had bought several flash drives (different ones) and I have hardly used this one at all and now it wont work at all. I can't really say how fast it was. I never used it enough.

Cons: Device says write protected. It seems to have the same problem as many others complain about here. I lost all my data. It demanded I reformat the drive and so I eventually did and now it just refuses to work. It just says write protected. I'd swear this drive has a time stamp on it like after 3 months it just quits.

Other Thoughts: As one person suggested Toshiba has really lost me as a customer. I have had a number of issues with different Toshiba products. At this point I'm willing to take the advise of another and just refuse to buy Toshiba products anymore. I bought this item in Feb 2014. It's like 7 months old with no use and it still broke. How disappointing. Save your money for something else.

4 out of 5 eggsIt's OK

Pros: Decent storage capacity
I personally like having the separate cap
LED isn't stupid bright
Fast read speeds

Cons: Write speeds are not that great

Other Thoughts: In the five months since purchase I have not experienced any of the reliability problems others have mentioned. HD Tune reports read average of 129 MB/s. I don't have HD Tune Pro to benchmark write speed, but while copying several large files Win 8.1 fluctuates around 30 MB/s

1 out of 5 eggsGood Drive while working

Pros: Drive worked good and fast when it worked.

Cons: Drive died just past the 90 day mark. Drive is now write protected and no matter what I do with it the drive is useless. I am unable to remove any of my users data off of it or put anything on the drive.

Other Thoughts: Toshiba needs to create good products or they will not remain in business very much longer. I have seen more hard drives, flash drives, and laptops die made by Toshiba than any other company. Get with the picture guys! I also am dreading going through RMA with them because I hear their customer service and return policy sucks!
