5 out of 5 eggsGood for Cisco ASA 5505

Pros: Works like a champ in my Cisco ASA 5505. Just dumped the contents of the OEM 128 meg card onto this one with a card reader, plugged it in, and I was up and running with 2 gigs of flash storage.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: Waaay cheaper than buying "official" Cisco flash memory.

2 out of 5 eggsSandisk CF

Pros: Transfer Speed better in USB/CF adapter --- Supported by Linux and NetBSD in 40/44 pin USB/IDE adapters. Good price. Failure mode was gradual not catastophic...No data loss.

Cons: After 3 months operation, the CF is not operational. Cannot read ofr write it.
This may be a temperature related failure...Suspect a connection is being made/broken with thermal expansion (metal contactor)

Other Thoughts: These CF are supposed to have a Limited Lifetime Warranty...by it will cost you more of your time than it is worth in order to get a RMA replacement if it fails.

5 out of 5 eggsWork great in my Canon Digital Rebel

Pros: Both cards formatted without issues, descent speed on writing pictures to the card, it least for my Canon Digital Rebel (1st generation). Brought 2 plus 1 gig card I already had, now have 5 gigs space to take pictures with.

Cons: None

4 out of 5 eggsCard Works Great - Dont be in a hurry!

Pros: Card works flawlessly......Never doubted that it would.

Cons: nothing to say bad about the card!

Other Thoughts: PLEASE WARN US THAT YOU ARE GOING TO SHIP ITEM VIA DHL. THEY ARE SOOOOOO SLOW! ENDED UP BUYING A SECOND CARD LOCALLY TO MEET THE NEEDS I BOUGHT THIS ONE FOR!

5 out of 5 eggsReliable and Quick

Pros: I bought this to use in a Fostex digital multitrack recorder to replace the very small and generic factory CF card. Fast access times and reliability highlight this product. I imagine it would perform just as beautifully in my Canon Rebel. The price was very easy to digest too.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: Received it quickly. Thanks Newegg.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks fine in a CF-to-IDE adapter

Pros: Replaced an aging hard drive in a piece of industrial equipment with this CF card (and one of the CF-to-IDE adapters). Boots and works like a charm.

Cons: None

3 out of 5 eggsSanDisk could do better than this...

Pros: Coming from SanDisk, this card ought to be a good product. The low price for this much storage in a CompactFlash card is unbelievable. Performance while it worked was good and met the advertised spec nearly all of the time.

Cons: If you plan to use this card as a boot device for a computer, you may be heading for trouble. Most CompactFlash cards in CF to IDE adapters will happily allow you to connect another IDE device as a slave on the same cable. This SanDisk card does not allow that, which can be a problem if you need to attach an optical drive to the only PATA channel in a system.

It's not possible to change the operating mode of this card if you need to do so. SanDisk does at least acknowledge that CF cards have different operating modes, but they state that they will not offer a utility to change the mode of their cards. This is something to think about if you have an older or finicky IDE controller that you plan to use this card with.

Other Thoughts: Unfortunately, this card failed while I was working with it, so I've got to see about getting it replaced with another. As I have many SanDisk products that work very well and have proven to be excellent value for the money, I would call this an unfortunate fluke and not a common problem.
