5 out of 5 eggsAwesome Card..

Pros: reliable and durable.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: I use this in my canon 60d and have taken thousands of pictures with 0 problems. recently i went on a trip with my spouse and took about 500 pictures. the card was accidentally left in my pocket and went through the washing machine. I was very worried i had lost our all photos. to my amazement not only did the card still work, but i got all the pics. even then i thought, i got lucky and the card would go bad. after 2 days i put it back in my camera and it seems to be working fine. I couldn't be more pleased with the quality of this card. I can't really say i've had bad luck with any SD card. but given this experience i felt this warranted a review.

1 out of 5 eggsUnusable

Pros: Comes with a plastic clamshell.

Cons: The card comes preformatted and should be usable out of the box. I inserted it into my internal card reader which is connected to my PC via a USB header, Windows 7 automatically saw the drive and correctly reported it's capacity. I created a simple text file and saved it to the SD card with no issues.

When I started to copy my data files to it (300-500MB in size), the PC acted like the card was constantly being removed and reinserted, aborting any attempts at copying files over, and then immediately remounting the card.

Thinking it may just be an issue with my card reader, I tried using it my other computers to no avail. Symptoms were exactly the same on my other Win7 boxes as well as my Win XP's and Linux boxes

Tried several times to reformat, using both NTFS and exFAT, if using a quick format, the format is successful but does not resolve the issue. When attempting to do a long format of either file system type, formatting fails.

1 out of 5 eggsNot good enough

Pros: None. only one egg because it is required field.

Cons: Lasted long enough to miss out on 30 day return. Bad read errors, says cant write because it is write protected. It dose not matter which way the slide is, locked or unlocked. This is unacceptable. The card was too high in cost to die this soon. SanDisk for crying out loud. Will not even reformat in windows 7 or with sd formatter. Dead

4 out of 5 eggsSanDisk Ultra 64GB SDXC card SDSDU-064G-A11

Pros: *SDXC = Greater size than 32GB max SDHC siblings.
*Supposedly higher speed throughput.
*Has a little white space to write on.. a little one.
*Comes with a nice plastic clam shell.
*Bought it for Canon T2i camera

Cons: Dissapointed at write speeds--expected them to be at 30 MB/s but it is only stable at 12 to 13 MB/s... not bad but expected 30s because the packaging touted up to 30 MB/s speeds but apparently it was for reading files not writing.. it being "Ultra" it should have performed better, in my opinion. Read speeds are great at 42 MB/s, ahm, with a caveat.. see real numbers below.

I used USB 3.0 bus through Kingston USB 3.0 reader so the numbers are the max you should expect.. plus/minus some depending on the file size used.

Other Thoughts: CrystalDiskMark 3.0 x64

Sequential Read : 42.470 MB/s
Sequential Write : 13.018 MB/s
Random Read 512KB : 37.310 MB/s
Random Write 512KB : 3.492 MB/s
Random Read 4KB (QD=1) : 2.421 MB/s [ 591.2 IOPS]
Random Write 4KB (QD=1) : 1.229 MB/s [ 300.0 IOPS]
Random Read 4KB (QD=32) : 2.477 MB/s [ 604.7 IOPS]
Random Write 4KB (QD=32) : 1.243 MB/s [ 303.4 IOPS]

Test : 100 MB [M: 63.4% (37.7/59.5 GB)] (x7)
Date : 2012/04/08 14:42:06
OS : Windows Vista Home Premium Edition SP2 [6.0 Build 6002] (x64)

That is using top of the line SSD, 6 core AMD @3.2GHz, USB 3.0 capable ASRock motherboard = nothing to slow it down.

4 out of 5 eggsHairyButtGoblin

Pros: Well its a memory card. Came with the little case that they all come in, got it from somewhere else for sixty. Works in my nikon d3100 well.

Cons: I couldn't find the write speed anywhere online so I thought that I'd review it here since this is where I come for reviews. On my laptop ATTO says 24/MBs read and 12-14/MBs WRITE. Not a con for a class 10 but SanDisk says its UHS-1. To me I was thinking like a class 10 plus type of deal but it's a regular class 10. Not exactly a con but I was hoping.

Other Thoughts: I would like to see others test this card to make sure that it's not my laptop reducing the speed since I can't get to my rig ATM. Good card if found on the cheap.
