4 out of 5 eggsI'm satisfied

This review is from: SanDisk SDSSDP-128G-G25 2.5" 128GB SATA III Internal Solid State Drive (SSD)

Pros: Bought it because it was a shellshocker, and these reviews seemed positive (and it is a Sandisk).

Easy to install in an older desktop machine. In Windows 7 it raised the Disk Data Transfer Score to 6.9. Machine works noticeably faster (and quieter!)

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: Thanks for the reviews, they really make a difference when you see a product on Shellshocker.

5 out of 5 eggsworks flawlessly - very satisfied

This review is from: SanDisk SDSSDP-128G-G25 2.5" 128GB SATA III Internal Solid State Drive (SSD)

Pros: Flawless installation on Dell E6410
Very quick boot up and access
Killer deal at just $59 on sale.

Cons: None thus far. Well, maybe I should have splurged a little bit for a bigger SSD as 128GB will fill up fast.

Other Thoughts: Needed a windows computer so I bought a refurbished e6410 and this SSD on sale for $59. I did a clean install, as my research said this is the way to go. BIOS recognized it immediately, recognized the Windows 7 recovery disk it installed without a hitch. Drivers...well that's another story....that has nothing to do with the SSD. It works flawlessly so far.

I have a SSD on my 2008 Unibody MacBook. This computer boots up quite a bit faster than the MacBook.

Once you have an SSD, it's pretty much unbearable to use a computer without one.

2 out of 5 eggsSTAY AWAY

This review is from: SanDisk SDSSDP-128G-G25 2.5" 128GB SATA III Internal Solid State Drive (SSD)

Pros: Price

Cons: SandDisk says you can get up to 390 seq writes & up to 490 seq reads. WRONG!!!!!! No way sports fans. the best I could get out of it was 176 seq writes & 275 seq reads. My 840 Pro (128GB) SSD gets 510 writes & 560 reads. So what is up with SanDisk ?

Other Thoughts: Save your money & stay away from this one. My W/D Black is almost as fast as this thing.

Manufacturer Response:

Hi Bucket List,

My name is Allen from SanDisk support. I appreciate your review. The speed of the drive depends upon various factors that includes the SATA chipset, SATA interface etc. The optimum speed from the drive can be achieved when used on SATA-III interface. We would like to know more about your issue. Please contact SanDisk support at 1-866-SANDISK or submit a support request at www.sandisk.com/support. We will assist you towards the best possible resolution.

Thank you,
Allen,
SanDisk Support.

5 out of 5 eggsSSD for the win!

This review is from: SanDisk SDSSDP-128G-G25 2.5" 128GB SATA III Internal Solid State Drive (SSD)

Pros: A good price (on sale), big performance boost compared to the OEM Dell hard drive, easy to install, doesn't take up much space which allows for better cooling.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: My old Dell Studio is still chugging along after all these years. I'm using it as a camera server now and I wanted to upgrade the OEM Dell ATA hard drive with something more reliable and faster. This drive holds only the OS for the system which is why I opted for the 128GB SSD. The system runs smooth with no lag at all. I'm currently running two cameras and use a separate500GB ATA drive for storage.

5 out of 5 eggsBang for the buck!

This review is from: SanDisk SDSSDP-128G-G25 2.5" 128GB SATA III Internal Solid State Drive (SSD)

Pros: Good read/write speed. No more waiting for bootup. Quick install.

Cons: none.

Other Thoughts: I picked mine up on sale for $59.99. A no brainer at that price and no way I can complain.

3 out of 5 eggs

This review is from: SanDisk SDSSDP-128G-G25 2.5" 128GB SATA III Internal Solid State Drive (SSD)

Pros: faster than HDD. It take about 35 seconds to finish start the win 7 system. But not that fast! Anyway, it is ok to spend 67 dollars to buy it. Not bad.

Cons: As a SSD, the IOPS is to low.

Manufacturer Response:
