Watch a SanDisk SSD outperform a 7200 RPM hard drive

Sequential Read Speeds of up to 490 MB/s

The SanDisk SSD offers sequential read speeds of up to 490 MB/s and sequential write speeds of up to 350 MB/s**. Compared to a traditional 7,200 RPM hard drive, it offers much faster bootup and load times1.

SanDisk Extreme SSD
Easy Upgrade Defers Computer Replacement Costs

The SanDisk SSD is a drop-in replacement for any 2.5-inch hard drive. Swapping your current drive with this SSD is an easy way to boost performance and defer computer replacement costs.

Extend Laptop Battery Life

Because it has no spinning platters, the SanDisk SSD stays cool and quiet during use. It also draws less power than a traditional hard drive to prolong your laptop's battery life--an added bonus for mobile laptop users.

Durable and Long Lasting

With no moving parts, the SanDisk SSD endures shocks and vibrations better than traditional spinning-platter hard drives. It is rated at 2.0 million hours mean time before failure2 (MTBF), making it a smart long-term investment.

System Requirements and Warranty Information

The SanDisk SSD uses the SATA 6 Gb/s standard connection and is backward compatible with SATA 3 Gb/s and SATA 1.5 Gb/s. It measures 0.37 by 3.95 by 2.75 inches (H x W x D) and works with any computer that has a 2.5-inch hard drive.

The SanDisk Solid State Drive is backed by a three-year limited warranty3.

1 out of 5 eggsWaste of time

Pros: Nice color, pretty packaging

Cons: Does not work at all - wasted 4 hr before I gave up. Can see the SSD in Device Manager and BIOS but have no access to it and don't see it under My Computer. Sandisk Toolkit did not help at all either.

5 out of 5 eggsGood SSd

Pros: Light, SATA III, nice matte black finish

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: There is definitely an SSD inside the case unlike some other reviews have pointed out. It's just very light.

5 out of 5 eggsBang for Buck

Pros: Works perfectly

Cons: It clearly states it's speeds--it's not the fastest drive out there

Other Thoughts: I bought this on sale for $133--that is an amazing price for an SSD that performs admirably! 7.5 WEI

The Corsair GS that costs about $230 gave me a 7.9 WEI. I'll save $100 and lose a microsecond of my life here and there...

1 out of 5 eggsThis Is a First!

Pros: Clean looking and VERY LIGHT WEIGHT!

Cons: Nice housing with nothing inside. Yep, an SSD with no silicon chips.

Other Thoughts: : I purchased this unit to use as a back-up/clone drive for an experimental build. When it arrived I thought ‘Wow, this is really LIGHT WEIGHT!’; well, if the housing is empty then it should be. I weighed a normal 128Gig SSD and this thing; the 128Gig unit weighed in at 3.0 OZ while the ‘empty housing’ was less than an ounce.

I have to wonder what was going on in the SanDisk assembly plant that allowed this to happen.

When I called Newegg about this they immediately issued an RMA, emailed me a prepaid UPS return label, (something they have NEVER done before), and informed me that they would refund the purchase price as soon as they received the unit. Very cool. I immediately ordered another 256Gig SSD by a different manufacturer.

Consider me a very satisfied Newegg customer!

5 out of 5 eggsWorks Good So Far

Pros: Did not come with 2.5" drive adapter. I bought one from a different vendor. Installation was easy enough, did a clean install of Win7. My system is old and slow to begin with (Athlon 4200+) but seems speedier than before.

Win7 gave me an Experience score of 7.3 for my hard drive which is significantly better than the 5.9 it gave me for my 10k rpm Raptor drive. I think the faster Samsung SSD's get scores of 7.7 or thereabouts.

Cons: This might be a slower SSD but if it's reliable it's great value for the money.

Other Thoughts: My SSD obviously came with innards, unlike the poor souls below whose SSD's came with nothing inside of them.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat SSD drive

Pros: Put this in my everyday PC, and it's made a huge difference (even though m/b only supports SATA II)
Power on to desktop is in the 20second range.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I used Acronis to clone existing drive to the SSD. No issues with cloning, or booting up Win7 x64.

5 out of 5 eggsMy first ssd

Pros: Wow!!! My MacBook Pro 2012 cold boots in about 17 seconds! Apps launch in one bounce! I couldn't be happier with this ssd

Cons: ZERO

Other Thoughts: The first two reviewers mention that it's an empty case, well it is feather light, but mine works great. Also I had to download the trim app for macs and now the system report says trim in enabled

Pros: Newegg is great. Customer Service has been phenomenal.

Cons: I also received an empty SSD. It had the connections and case but was empty inside.

1 out of 5 eggs

Pros: SUPER LIGHT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! , COULD NOT BE SEEN IN THE BIOS BY TWO LAPTOPS AND 1 DESKTOP

Cons: I made a mistake of waiting 5 weeks to install an empty ssd drive 1/3 the weight of my other 4 ssd drives (EMPTY CASE ONLY HAD POWER AND DATA CONNECTIONS !!!!!).
Other than that I am VERY HAPPY WITH NEWEGG !!!!!!
